PBG Rod Bolts ?
« on: October 24, 2014, 02:44:31 PM »
I have a set of re-sized FE rods, that have new bolts, and on the heads of the bolts it reads PBG or PDB with the P at one end and the B,G at the corners of the other end of the bolt head, anyone familiar with these bolts ?

I know nothing about these bolts, so unless some one knows anything about them, I will have to swap them out for a known quality fastener, either ARP or SPS bolts and have the big ends resized.

I got an answer about the bolts, their Pioneer stock replacement bolts rated @ 150,000 psi, but who the manufacturer is, is an unknown.

So I am just going to get a set of ARP bolts and replacing the bolts requires the big ends to be re-sized again unfortunately.

You might try replacing the bolts and then just checking the big end for roundness.  On a number of occasions I've replaced the rod bolts and not had to resize the rods.  Seems to vary case by case...
