Will they fit in 4.270 bore centeroiler block? Anyone got real world experience?

Thanks,

Might want to check the OD of the seat.   The largest I have seen/used is 2.250".  If the seat OD is in fact 2.300", then it would become too thin to be stable.  Joe-JDC

Joe, heads have already been setup for the seat/ valve combo and run in the past. So seat is not what comes with a standard set but, more of a proport custom setup instead.

Typically it is not the intake valve that is the problem, but the exhaust.  Ford put a 2.250 in the TP and the HR heads on a standard bore 427.  I don't see any problem with that, but again, if the valves have been moved any, then it will be a "trial fit" issue.  The pistons will need to be notched to clear the larger valve, and valve placement is paramount to the notch.  Radial clearance as well as depth is critical.  All part of blueprinting.  Joe-JDC.

Exhaust valve is 1.70. So I don't have any doubt that will clear. These will be put on 487 " with obvioulsy custom reliefs cut into pistons. I already have 1.71 ex in a 4.175 bore CJ block and they clear on the Dove CCJ heads that they are installed in even @.750 lift. I just didn't know if the 2.28's would be too close for the 427 block in the edelbrock head. But, I guess they will given the overbore. Valves haven't been moved. Thanks Joe

P.S. will be coming to San Antonio Raceway in the next month to run the truck on some testing stuff. I will be in the Kirby
area before going to track to pick up my younger brother. Come on out and check out the truck if you can.
