My truck was sold in WA and spent time in CA before I eventually got it here in North FL. while it was in CA, it received an engine swap that went to a Referee that slapped a BAR sticker on the door jamb by the certification sticker. is there a link that I can use to find any info on my particular swap, i.e. when/where or what the info on the sticker means.

Taking a guess here but it might mean that the current engine is verifyed for CA. emissions. There is CA. and then the rest of the solar system ya know.

Don't I know it, born there and spent almost 15 of the first 25 yrs of my life there between being an Air Force brat, stationed there myself, and working at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach.  Just trying to figure out what is actually supposed to be on a Fed Emission certified 76 F250 390 4 barrel 7800lb GVW.  I know not much besides the PCV sys and heated air to the snorkel, but what else?  This is a leaded fuel truck so no cats or charcoal canister

Didn't that also use a charcoal cannister and a non-vented gas cap?  I don't think leaded fuel, cats or GVW mattered for it. I worked on 72 F100 that was a 240 six from CA and it has a fuel line on the right side of the frame to a cannister mounted on the frame below the battery. Somebody had swapped the gas tank so the end of the line that goes up through the right rear floor of the cab was left open.
Telltale signs are the the clips that held the line to the inside of the frame and under the right motor mount bracket and the hole or grommet in the right rear of the cab floor. The cannister bolted to a bracket with two bolts about half way between the rad support and front suspension crossmember. May be bolt marks if it wasn't painted over.

No, in fact the F150 was created to get around the emissions to GVW limit, which was 6000lb. the F-series pickups above 6050 GVW did not have the fuel restrictor in the filler necks to prevent the use of leaded gas, which means no cats (leaded gas kills cat converters).  Parts catalogs show tanks, fuel fill tubes, and vented and unvented caps that are separated by evaporative emission control system and non-eec (the charcoal canisters).  My 1976 F250 fuel gauge does not say "unleaded fuel only" whereas my 74 F100 did specify unleaded on the gauge.  There is also a difference between Federal Certification vehicles (49 state) and CARB Certification vehicles (California) in the required emission equipment.  Mine is a Fed Cert truck (WA state DSO)
