Speed-Pro Competition Series Rod Bearings 87170CH10
« on: April 24, 2026, 11:54:47 AM »
I see other sizes available for purchase (standard, .001, .020) with some being limited stock but it appears the .010 bearings aren't being manufactured anymore? Everywhere I look they are out of stock with no ETA for more. Have these rod bearings been superseded by another part number? In a nutshell I would like to get a good set of .010 undersize rod bearings for a stock 390 crankshaft, but my preferred choice seems to be a dead end.  As always, any information would be greatly appreciated.

The silence is not encouraging.  :)  Reading previous posts regarding rod bearings it sounds like ACL and King are other good options.  I'll take any input regarding rod bearings that are on par with the speed pro bearings that are not available.

Rock Auto shows some .010 under Mahle/Clevite bearings.  I bought some back in December, they delivered in just a couple days.

I saw those as well.  Mostly I was looking for input about the current state of rod bearings since the posts I could find on here about them were many years old.  I pulled the trigger on the Mahle CB760P8 bearings.  I assume they will be fine but time will tell.
