Got lucky- and got happy- PIE tunnel ram
« on: April 06, 2022, 11:00:14 AM »
Got lucky, after shaking the dice- ran across this for sale, and also some PIE heads, which I have a couple sets of. Wondered/hoped maybe this was made for them. Seller was very helpful with some port measurements that seemed to match, so I bought it- and is is indeed made for the PIE ports. Price was reasonable too- happier than a two-dicked dog in a fire hydrant factory!

Interesting, no coolant crossover and for dual Dominators. Looks like a pretty serious piece. The only FE I can imagine running something like that in your area would be Bob Johnson.

Please pardon my ignorance, but what the heck is a PIE tunnel ram?

I think it's actually Paquet Improved Exhaust. Those are the Dove Hi-Risers with a filled intake floor and better exhaust ports but not the radically raised exhaust.

Paquet Intake & Exhaust raised and shortened intake and raised exhaust. My new set has the very small Glidden chamber, unfinished, so it can be REALLY small

Jim Dove sure wasn't afraid to cast different ports , like the F5 Haskel ports were great. If Jim could have mastered the casting process he would have owned the FE market . my old Dove catalog shows it as Paquet Intake Exhaust , Jim had the raised exhaust port option on the Tunnel Port too
