Yeah, all these backorders really suck, I need a new pair of slicks for my Fairmont. Before Covid, it was no problem, the local Speed Shop always had them in stock, but have not had any in almost a year. And since moving, I had a different shop check for me, he said Mickey Thompson doesn`t even have any on hand, so he won`t even place an order until they do. Could be worse I suppose, at least I don`t have a car or engine in pieces, being held in limbo by a lack of key parts. (although I certainly wish the availability of aluminum FE heads would get up to speed soon.)

Ha, I got a shit pile of parts and no one to do the machine work. Had it all at one shop for 7 weeks and they never touched it. Picked it all up and took it to another shop and it's been there for 5 weeks now. About ready to go pick it all up again.

Got to hold one in my hands today at PRI. Very nice looking carburetor. They are offering a 650, 750, 850, and 950. 650 cfm is downleg booster. All 750-950 will be annular. The first few pics are the 650, the last couple were an 850 I believe. Billet metering blocks with changeable emulsion bleeds and power valve channel restrictors. Notched floats with jet extentions, baffled bowls, and bowl drains. Has an air bypass valve/screw through the top of the venturi. TPS provision and throttle shafts are bronze bushed. Dual bolt pattern 4150/4500. 650's are expected to be released first in the first quarter of next year.

Looking at that makes me think tuning a three-circuit Dominator would be pretty easy.  I guess the additional bleed support something like an intermediate circuit.

Yes, it has an intermediate circuit for additional tuning. Some other features I'm forgetting, but I don't think you will find anything else even close in price range for all the features. I think the 650 was starting somewhere between $700-750 and the rep said each size larger is an additional $50 or so. One thing I forgot to add is that is just a little taller than a Holley/ Quick Fuel.

What venturi to throttle sizes are the different cfm ratings? Is the largest throttle diameter 1.75?

Edlebrock has had a pissing contest with Holley for decades ever since Holley started selling their own intake manifolds. So edlebrock started pushing revived Carters. Finely they decide to build an Autolite/Holley mixer.

Seems that the annular boosters should be on the smallest carb for good street manners. (there was a patent on annular boosters for years that kept Holley & Carter from selling them.)

Maybe now they will recast their 2x4 intakes so two Holley style carbs can be used.

That is a wild looking carb with great features. Look at all those air bleeds you might need!  The 750 carb has 1.250 venturies....how do they flow that much?

These won't fit Ford med 2x4 either , bowls are way to deep and metering blocks at both ends , unless you can turn the carb sideways they are just physically too big

I ordered a Canton road race pan and pickup from Summit last tuesday and recieved it on last thursday.
Greg

Would be nice - Milodon is the only mfg making the pan I need.  The only Canton pan for my app requires a dry sump system.

I might have to get one of the new 650s and see how that works on the door car.

Seeing all those removable bleeds would make me kinda nervous about them getting loose and dropping into a cylinder.

If you drop one, you have to fight yourself to resist opening the throttle.  The way I handle bleeds is once I have them lose, I put a toothpick firmly in the hole and finish unscrewing them and take them out.  Same for putting them back in.  I have yet to drop one.
