Thanks for the compliment Mike. Thank you for your input Joe. I will look at every hole and see what I can do. I sealed the motors with a gasket but that was probably a bad idea. I will seal them with RTV.

Just a thought, maybe the upgrades were for the aluminum block.

Last spring I got this idea to build my own flowbench. I new nothing about them so I started reading about them on the internet. I ended up buying the plans from PTS flowbench Technology. He is a retired guy who built his own as a hobby and ended up designing one that he sells the plans for and also makes his own equipment to use with his bench. It is a orifice style flowbench with a digital manometer with a pid motor control for automatically controlling the motor speed.

It took me a couple months to finish it. It was a bit more than I had planned for but I finally finished it and ran a test run. There were a number of things wrong with it and I worked at it for a couple of weeks to try to figure it all out. Electrical problems and software bugs. I almost figured everything out when I ran out of time and had to  shelve it because of other projects.

A week ago I went back at it and finally got it running. I did a test run to calibrate it with a test plate. The plate I used was rated at 500 cfm@28". There is a short video of me running the test below. I came pretty close to the 500 mark and I think now I can adjust the software to my Machine. After the test I called my wife and said I wanted her to be the first to know that I got it running. She said "who else could you call to talk about it without their eyes glazing over". Nice.... I also posted a few pictures of it being built. I now have got to get my velocity probe working and build a stand to hold things for flow testing.

I apologize to everyone's eyes in advance.

This is the paper work that came with it. I will send more pictures when I get them and also about any improvements that I can find out about.

This is what you see when you get your BBM block.

I have made a few more changes to the mustang and I will post those later but I wanted to post is something I will be installing this winter that should make the car easier to drive. It is electric power steering. Here is a link to where I bought it. The second video down shows how to install into a Mustang.

Here are some photos of the kit.

Yes, I saw my mistake earlier but did not correct it because I figured you would know what I meant.

Are you planning on doing daily posts for drag week or one big one at the end? I hope things go well for you and you have some fun.

I had the same problem. I replaced everything, did not help. It ended up being a bad ground.

It will also protect the MSD box from voltage spikes. Here is a quote from MSD.
Along with reducing or eliminating line noise, the 8830 filter will also guard against heavy voltage spikes or surges. Our ignition controls themselves are desinged in such a way that moderate fluctuations in the electrical system will not affect them. However, because the ignition is tied directly to the battery, there may be an instant where a large spike or surge can adamage the unit. Some of the causes can be linked to a low battery, defective alternator, welding on the vehicle, or using a battery charger to start the engine.

This is what I have found so far. Starting in Jan. 1968, cars were federally mandated to have anchorages points for shoulder harnesses. Here is a quote from Hagerty Insurance web site.

"President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Highway Safety Act of 1966 was a landmark piece of federal legislation that gave Washington sweeping powers over car design. The act specified mandatory safety standards for 1968 models. In addition, the government “convinced” Detroit to add six standard safety features to all 1966 domestic cars that included seat belts. Starting in January 1968, lap-belt anchorages for each front and rear seating position and upper torso-belt anchorages at each forward facing outboard seating position were required. On January 1, 1972 , the same requirements went into effect for U.S.-built trucks."

Here is a link to a US Transportation report published in 1972 about laws requiring seat belts. From the way I read it, on page 9 it says that in 1968 only the state of Nevada and maybe Virginia were the only states requiring harness belts be installed.
