Sounds similiar to what I used to have… if you can hook it… 14’s-maybe high 13’s… lot of variables there and info missing. Good luck have fun

I have one I could sell if it’s still needed.

I would hope they would sell... being able to move the pushrod holes would definitely be a good move. Anybody that wants to build a serious FE with a medium riser style head should want one. I know mine has been worked over pretty good and I want to do some more yet but haven’t had time. I have two manifolds one with efi bungs and one with out both dominator flanged. I would think that manifold casting would compliment your heads nicely Barry.

Cody on your 514s camshafts was that with stock heads (I am guessing ported ) or aftermarket aluminum.Doug

Both... the air pump doesn’t care...

Jay, Glad you are getting some positive results. I’ve done some 514/532 inch BBF builds and they usually have 12-20 degrees of split depending on the combo. That cam does seem huge for the hp peek rpm, irregardless how good the exhaust is the engine still needs the exhaust valve open long enough to let the spent gasses out. Other thing I’ve experienced with the big ford is trying to extend the rpm range higher in truck pulling applications, found out shortening the intake runners will move the hp peak around if the cam, intake, heads, etc are good enough, which it sounds like they are on your parts. That may be what you are experiencing. If you change to a shorter duration intake lobe on the cam and the Tq peak moves down and the hp peak stays the same I would point at the intake runner length. Cool stuff for sure, neat to read your progress on here. Keep up the good work!

FE Technical Forum / Robb Mc fuel pump

Anybody run a RobbMc mechanical fuel pump with a honest 800 hp engine? Is it enough pump or should it be supplemented with a secondary pump? Thanks

I really liked the Oregon 175 grind... in the 454 inch stroker deal I did for a truck pull. Ran pretty good in my f100 also. It isn’t a roller but pushed my truck to low 11’s at 118 mph... its 259/267 @0.050 lift was 0.650ish. Iron heads, stock rockers, c8ae-h heads and 428 CJ intake on it lol. My Blair cammed engine is .695 lift roller and has been trouble free so far lol.

Do you have a flow sheet for the heads?

The mechanical standard type pump is just there for redundancy... in case the electric pump craps out at a inconvenient time, which is always the case.  A Drag week type event is still on my bucket list. I want a built in backup on everything I can think of failing to save time and a possible DNF. I’m looking at belt driven pumps also...  thanks

The mistress has already basically tied its best ever pass on race gas with the methanol change over, runs cooler, almost too cool this time of year, took a bunch of rear gear away also, so I know the 520 is making a bunch more torque. All this while starving for fuel, so I’m hoping there’s a tenth or three left in it yet.

25
Anybody know of a mechanical fuel pump for a Fe that’s compatible with methanol?

Are the SVO 460 blocks still there? Tried to get two of my truck pulling friends that need blocks to go get them but sounds like it didn’t happen. If they are still available I’d like more info on them... new/used/repaired/bore size etc... thanks

Friend of mine has a 64 falcon with a 428 in it... full cage and it weighs 3200lb I believe with 150 lb driver

30
I’ll guess... 460hp and 410tq... I think the cam duration is gonna hurt the tq some, along with the low compression. Narrow LSA should help some with that but I’m thinking this thing will run like a old 2 stroke dirt bike... kinda dead down low and then come on strong in the mid range and rpm for days up top. Neat build Brent.
