FE Technical Forum / Re: Clutch arm
« on: May 06, 2018, 06:58:23 PM »
the bracket on the bell housing has a hole in it that clip on arm is suppose to slid through is this right? The lakewood bell housing I have has a T like bracket that I'm assuming is wrong because my arm has a clip that looks like it needs a slotted bracket. Does anyone have experience with the bell housing bracket and arms that could give me some guidance?

even with the high volume oil pump you think i should change to steel gear? How long do the bronze gears last on average?

I have a crane roller cam and when I talked to crane they asked which oil pump I was using. Since I am using a high volume oil pump they said they only recommend bronze. I asked them about composite and steel and they said use bronze.

Put flywheel on it was really tight also. I guess aftermarket cranks are machined tight

« on: April 23, 2018, 07:34:27 AM »
Got my engine together and opened my clutch kit box and there are three pilot bushings. The big bushing is the only one that fits crank, crank is aftermarket steel crank. Is this the right one to use, none of the three other bushings fit. The big one fits in crank closest to trans, it to big to go in smaller forward crank holes. This may sound like dumb question but haven't put a standard trans behind an FE since the eighties and never with aftermarket crank so want to make sure i get it right.
