I agree the OP had too much pressure at 145 but we still had 120 130 seat pressure back in the 80’s and not wiping cams even the big one

I take a swag . New Cam and Lifters SUCK and light spring pressure is the answer to the problem . Engine run stand and light spring pressure are the answer , break in , switch out springs and then install into vehicle is what works . We never had to do this in the late 70's and 80's even with stout spring pressure they didn't wipe very often and when they did wipe used lifters were involved so something has changed . You can have everything right except the spring pressure and still wipe , Chevy guys have the 1.3 ratio rocker for break in but what ever the reason we never used to have to do this stuff for a cam to live

And to support guys who are not just blindingly copying products in order to make a sale, but to support guys who have knowledge and interest in the hobby.

I'm working on an aftermarket FE block and the main caps are numbered/scribed backwards...i.e. front cap was #5, rear cap was #1.  Not a big deal in any way, but you can tell the guys who were working on it were not familiar with basic engine building principles/nomenclature.

Lol , just how many employee's at Edelbrock poring molten do you think know basic engine principals ? lol , besides looks like Joe has confirmed it's not a copy of a Ebrock after all

Edelbrocks lead engineer went to Speedway just recently , been waiting a long time for the new VR 950 Holley spin off copy (oh no not Edelbrock lol) for an employee with an 18 degree headed 427 SBC project , maybe they are casting but it doesn't seem like it

I would get the NGK equivalent of the Autolites , I've installed thousands of Autolite spark plugs since 1979 and my shop won't order/install them anymore because of quality issue's since the factory moved they are not the same , I've posted pictures on Wes's FB on some Autolite's where the center electrode was very off-center from the case and ground electrode , would literally have to bend the ground electrode sideways to be in align with the center electrode .Had customer cars (non FE)coming back with miss fires and be an Autolite plugs so we stopped using them
On a side note I just installed a new pickup in my MSD but when my pickups go bad they don't won't to spark under cranking conditions (Digital 6 trigger light won't flash when cranking) turn the key off and try again until it flashes to start but once started it seems to run fine at all rpm levels

FE Technical Forum / Re: Need help with tire size for 63 Galaxie
« on: September 16, 2022, 01:47:01 PM »

I know a lot about cars but I don’t know much at all about tires. I told them this right out of the gate. They then sold me tires that do not fit and caused me to have an accident. Luckily nobody was hurt, but if I was killed you can guarantee they would be sued and they would lose. So, it really doesn’t matter what their policy is, you can’t misrepresent something in order to make a sale.

Wasn't a dig on you or Jegs but every tire company that my shop has ordered tires through in the last 25 years won't take a tire back that's been mounted ,if you get them replace the tire more power to you , Now if Jegs didn't install them on the rim and the car I think responsibility would fall on you but I'm not an attorney , just an auto mechanic for 44 years

Oh no. I haven’t bought anything from Jegs in a long time and I don’t remember them having a bad reputation but the way they are handling this seems pretty lacking (trying to run these tires damaged my car). At first they said they wouldn’t take them back at all, supervisor said they would and now he is not answering when I call and not returning my calls. I did a search for some recent reviews and they are really not good. Damn. Looks like I am just screwed.

I"d be surprised if they took them back since you mounted them , that's pretty much standard fare from everywhere , you mount them you keep them .

you have enough cubes to justify the RPM . Difference looks like the difference between a 2x4 medium riser to a low riser 2x4
