FE Technical Forum / Re: Distributor's
« on: July 07, 2022, 12:13:27 AM »
I am a dura spark guy and have a tote full of dist..I have around 5 or 6 FE ones...I am a street engine guy and curve them myself..No shortage of parts..Last engine build i did (hyd roller 289) the new MSD dist was a dud right out of the box..Only reason i have one in my 67 is its a clone of the T/A race cars..Sad ...because i do like MSD stuff..I will not touch Pertronix...I agree with Rory...send it to one of the Dist guys..

I have made two sets. One for my 67 Mustang T/A replica and one set for Posi Dale.Dale wanted the front end to rise better and to pull the front wheels.I also modified his lower control arms...Dales car pulls the front up very well now.....

FE Technical Forum / Re: FE iron head guide issues?
« on: November 29, 2021, 06:11:07 PM »
Rory....The heads I had on my 427 were a worked set of GT 390's with CJ valves (i believe you bought the valves)..In 17,000 miles the unleaded fuel had destroyed the exhaust seats.Car still ran fine..Found the problem when the heads were torn down..Dont remember how the guides were.I scrapped the heads and have gone aluminum..

Welcome
Hmmm FE in a ‘67 might be the most perfect thing in the world. This from a ‘66 owner.
You’re definitely in the right place. Lots of ‘em here.
Congrats and let the header/plug cussing begin. :D

Judging by his choice of front suspension the car will be getting the shock tower delete option....

Hey Drew...interested in getting you to build me a 735 + vac sec carb for my mild mannered 427..Can be a Ford carb like a C9AF-U service unit or a first gen 3310.(dont care)..Must have a dual inlet on the primary bowl as I run the stock 427 fuel filter..I do have a gen 1 3310 complete but it is missing its base plate..I have other 3310's (complete)was well...Do you have any carbs or primary float bowls..I just used my float bowl on another project only to find out it may be a issue to find another ....Car has 3 pedals.......Cory

I've got 3 S intakes one with the large S and 2 with the small S. I figure they are worth about $25 each plus shipping.

Long style makes sense....The 390 has CJ heads on it and they are having problems...I am thinking 8 bolt early stuff should work..They tried CJ manifolds and had clearance issues...They phoned me looking for GT manifolds and I explained they dont fit CJ heads...These are self admitting chevy guys working on a Ford but at least they are reaching out for help...He actually asked if the 406 stuff would work...

This car has been talked about here before. Its a 67 R code custom..Its up in BC here and is being put back on the road..They couldnt find a 427 so it has a 390 in it..They are having some problems which i will get into later...The question is what did Ford put in this car for exhaust manifolds...Did it come with those special Fairlane manifolds.
