Hey Jay---

I just read back through this thread, and had a thought. If you just bend the pushrods over a little bit, you'll eliminate the interference with the holes and not need to go for all these hardware changes!! ;D

Hey Drew---

That's not me! My truck is blue and my hair hasn't been either that short or that long for about a zillion years!

It is a rite of passage of sorts.... a requirement really to do openly retarded things to vehicles at a young age.

As long as you have gotten past all this by age 26-27 you are forgiven, heck I actually expect it.  I cannot however condone a 40 year old man:
1. ruining a perfectly good classic car
2. driving a truck that has Calvin sticker (of calvin and hobbes) pissing on a liberal
3. driving a Chevy Camaro and not having a mustache and/or mullet of at least 6inches in length.

Virtually all right-thinking people need a 'Calvin' sticker giving a 'thumb-to-nose' toward liberals. ;D

Although money has not yet changed hands, I have a verbal agreement on the Rocker 'kit'.

I have several thoughts.

First, it's obvious that we are now getting into the real cutting-edge of SOHC development. And, Jay, you're leading the charge.
Second, your stuff's so pretty you need to make some out of gold. They'd be just right nestled into the decolletage of a really first class blonde or redhead! ;D ;)
Third, wouldn't it make sense to look at EDM to create oil-holes.
Fourth, spacing 'donuts' along a piece of tubing and having them brazed into place in some 'alley' shop would seem to be a way of fabricating cam blanks. There're surely little shops here in the Detroit area that would be 'up' for such a job.

And all the above comments apply to those who're chiming in on this project. This is first-class stuff!!!

FWIW, I agree with Jay. Ford didn't go to the trouble to dream-up the secondary balance set-up because they didn't have anything else to do. They must have found it necessary during their testing or they wouldn't have gone to the extra complication and expense to put it there.

Although I MUST have the head studs here somewhere, I haven't found them yet. The smaller studs to mount the rocker shaft assemblies are there.

I'll throw in the head studs if I can find them. The mounting studs may be there also. I'll check and post again later.

Very informative and well documented!! I've had to do with several GV set-ups, and my own most recent one made use of the 'short' version. It surely helps to keep things compact. Mine went into my '63 F-100 ICB and there was plenty of room. The last one before that was in a '67 Fairlane GTA that had a 460 swapped in, and it required almost a total floor re-work. OOF!
