certainly you wont be using the 6 cylinder z bar you will need one  for a FE.

I have a 428 stroked to 464 solid roller, duration at .050  266.00 intake, 272.00 ex. .690, .700 110.0 center line 110 lobe separation. 850 Holly hp 80 jets pri 88 sec, 10.5:1 compression, Hooker 1 3/4, 3" exhaust. Timing 35 locked. Victor intake ported to Barrys cnc ported heads. Idles about 1200 at 13.5afr cruises between 2000 and 3000 at 11:1 afr.  in fourth gear from 3000 to 6500 foot to the floor it ranges 13.5:1 to 14.2 at 6500. Seems pretty good except 2-3000 is very fat. Should I just go down on the primary 2 sizes or am I over looking something?

I hear you about the problems, it was just the attitude I got from Bob and the tower really turned me off. I was staged and there was a problem down track. So I backed up. When I went to pull in the beams the bulbs never lit. They red lit me I was out. I looked at the video my son took clearly there was a problem with the beams. The next 10 or 15 cars red lit in that lane. They stopped to figure it out for 2 hrs. I went into the tower and they told me I was trying to stage with the back tires. I know I am not the smartest driver but REALLY?

if it slips in first gear it will slip for sure in 4th. Put it in fourth at low rpms and punch it see if the motor revs up and car doesn't accelerate. you might have a lazy hydraulic throw out bearing or slow clutch linkage.

Tight quarters

I got my valve covers last night they look great.  Nice job machining the breather grommets also. Now I can hook up my Milodon Vac-U-Pan system.
