The cars didn't really start to appreciate until Gone In 60 Seconds was released in 99'.
I think Randy will remember the rusted out 67' GT350 hulk that was turned into a pro touring car. ( White with blue Le Mans stripes. It's the real deal.
The story I recall the cost at the time far exceeded the 67 GT350 value at the time.  ( late 80s, early 90s.)
Yes, most of us these days would look at it as sacrilege but there were plenty of cars in the 3-5K range in the early 80s in So Ca.

I have a C5TE dual groove alternator pulley. I don't know if it's applicable to a generator or not. Without a doubt all  autolite/motorcraft applications.
I also have a spare cast dual groove B1AE crank pulley. They are used on the 67 GT500 as well and don't come cheap these days.

Thank you for the heads up. I was concerned that may be an issue.  I had planned on pulling it to change from the 389s that were supposed to be 350s to 318s I have.  Joy. Does anyone have a cover if I need one? I might as well line up my ducks in a row so this doesn't turn into a 1,000.00 project.

I grew up in Lakewood, Ca. I knew of Duke's in the valley. I spent time at Mel's on Firestone Blvd in Downey, Frisco Burger and IN n Out on Bellflower Blvd in  Lakewood. I also spent time at Terminal Island and remember Big Willie.  Joe Reath also did my first engine balance and heads. Ed "Isky" Iskandarian was also there when I picked them up.  Leyland of Curtis and Crhristenson on Anaheim Blvd did the block.  There was no shortage of "fathers of speed" in Long Beach and Signal Hill.
I left Ca 20 year ago. Tragic what has been done because of a one party system there.

If you're Henry or can get a message to him I would appreciate it.

Are you looking for the B1AE two groove cast iron unit that was used on the single groove balancer and the 406,427 and 428 PI ?

I ordered some replacement inserts for my 1/4, 1/2 and 3/8 kits. I looked at their head bolt thread restoration kit for the Toyota 1AZFe and 2AZfe. It is recommended by Toyota itself. It says much about their product.

I'm glad you had success with my recommendation.  Nothing worse than doing them in the car in a unibody car.

I have about 2,000 miles on my rebuilt 9" SPEC cased factory Trac Loc.  When I turn from driveways or make a bit tighter turn it feels like It's dragging a tire and there is bearing noise.  I did use the correct gear oil and additive. Is this common with the Trac Lock units? I removed my Detroit locker because of noise and harsh engagement at times.

I was talking to my neighbor who was a Millwright in a refinery. He mentioned they had an issue with some of the early products from Time-sert. He was also the one who turned me onto the Time-sert. He told me that they had changed some materials and processes at some juncture. Helicoils serve their purpose but I have seen many fail in soft metals. I loved the self-setting shoulder with the insert. I think they were the best choice for the rocker stand repair.
As they say. There is always a proper tool for a particular application.

Well, I had have the process done to many barrels on weapons, brake drums and axle shafts. The barrels are much more accurate. The drums don't warp. It's also used in many processes for machine equipment so It does work.
Your likely hard used 391 truck crank wouldn't be representative of usual results.

Congratulations.  I can fly for 9 more years before the FAA yanks my ticket.  My father worked in oil industry as a field electrician until he was 75. ( He was the guy that cleaned up all the crappy union electricians mistakes)  Be sure you stay active. You'll go down hill fast if you don't.
ENJOY!

On my 67 GT500 I'm running 235-45 -17 on a 7" rim front with 1" lowered coil springs and the Arning drop. On the rear with a 1" drop I am running 255 45 17 on an 8" rim with no clearance issues what so ever. Legendary wheel offers many of the OE style rims with correct offsets in alumimum.
I have the copies of the 1967 Shelby 10 spokes.

I've used several types on inserts over the years. The Heli in non-ferrous metals are absolutely horrid. What I do like about the time-sert that not only does it have a self-locking pin but it has a shoulder that is counter-bored with the supplied tool.  No issue with 130+ lbs of torque on a 1/2" insert. The insert also exerts load on the flat surface of what is being fastened in place. I have yet to see one let go.  They're perfect for the application mentioned above or the rocker stands in my case.  I also like that ALL tools required are included in the kit other than the knurled guide. It's about eight dollars. Custorer service from Time-sert was also phenominal.

A Time-sert is EXACTLY what you want to use. The poster above has never used one I would gather. They come in two different varieties.
There is the regular time-sert and a the one designed to repair a hole that has already been repaired.
They work flawlessly. They have a shoulder that will sit flush with the deck. They are also self-locking. If you want pictures of what comes in the set I'd be glad to post them for you. I had to use the over-sized Time-sert for the rocker arm pads. Edelbrock uses a crappy weak Helicoil in the aluminum heads and they simply don't hold well.
Spend your money on the standard Time-sert kit.  There is also a pilot tool that guides the drill and the tap.
