So with the hp being around 425-440, what kind of torque would we see?

I'm thinking of a cam that peaks in torque at 3500 to 3800. If it revs to 5500 rpm and is done thats fine.

Yeah, I liked that they used TFS heads and intake. I dont know if it was just the camera angle but it seemed like the angle was a mismatch from intake to head mating surface.

The TFS heads seem to be a good out of the box head from looking at Brents builds. Would love to see what they would do on a 390  with  a low rpm hydraulic roller build like what Blair did without the stroker kit.

The torque of this build is nothing short of amazing! Awesome build. I like that its a lower rpm build as this what I would utilize in my own 67 highboy. Torque right where you need it and tons of it!

I know these guys aren't the legends of FE's like Brent , Barry, Blair  and Jay but nice to see them doing an FE. I know sometimes they short the FE  and don't give it much credit but at least they did one.

I have set C3 heads but I dont know if they are 390 or 406. A side by side picture would be nice. I've had this set laying around for 20yrs.

Thank you! All of you have shed some light on this for me. I wasnt meaning that nobody ever touches the exhaust but it just seemed like there was very little attention paid to it. Your explanations make a lot of sense and help my thinking. I was thinking there should be a certain percentage of flow on the exhaust compared to the intake and it seems most heads meet that percentage.  Interesting about the gas mileage and the over scavenging!

I am no authority on FE's but have been around them for 35yrs. I love reading about them on this site and learning what helps bring them up to the modern world of technology.  One thing I'm curious about is I dont see much being done to the exhaust side of the heads. It seems all the porting is done to the intake side which I understand it needs attention. But, if the exhaust cant get rid of what's coming in then isnt it wise to make sure the exhaust flows a good percentage of the intake? Keep in mind, I've never ported a set of heads and am ignorant of the topic  but I'm just curious as to what the logic is. Would love to hear some info from you guys with the knowledge.

I believe all 4x4s were 360. There is always that chance that the motor has been swapped out at some time over the course of its 40yrs. Good luck!
