Most of my "projects" are dyno mules.  I try to put a lot of time and effort into trying new things so that I can help you guys make more power.  I've been getting hot and heavy into camshaft stuff, so I have a little 5.0 SBF that I'm getting ready to do a lot of cam testing with.

I'm looking forward to that one. That was a REALLY nice core too it seems.

Yeah, I still think it would be a downgrade.  Not a Pro Products fan.  If you got a hankering for a new balancer, snag a Powerbond.

OH wait, that's what i have... PB1111ST

I did say i need to write stuff down...  :P

I've got a new damper (professional products) to go on it when i change the cam.

That would be a significant downgrade.  You just need a pointer change.  I even have adjustable pointers where you could do it quickly.

If i said the ATI is 20 years old would you still feel the same?

Ive gotta get some rocker shims anyhow, i'll get a pointer too.

I found my notes stuffed in a Christ book, looks like i determined true TDC was about the missile on my factory pointer, not very precise but it'll work for now.

I really do have to start writing stuff down.

ATI Dampner - consensus seems to be it is about 7 degrees off and i did verify this when i assembled the engine but i don't remember exactly which way....

So assuming 7 degrees off and i want 36 total actual do i want to align 29 or 43 with the pointer using my dial back light?

Yup, Brent i'll be contacting you when i get ready, this just peeked my curiosity since i wasn't even aware of it till it came up in a search.

i found an old Crane Master Catalog and it doesn't match any of their old ones, which if i remember correctly from TOF had a rep for being very hard to control the valves on with the existing springs and such.

Anyway.

Edelbrock Rollin' Thunder Hydraulic Roller Camshafts 2220

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-2220/make/ford#overview

this is purely academic i guess since i'm not about to buy one, but does anyone know any thing about this cam / running one?

The two interesting things are that its on a 112 LSA vs the more common 110 and its advertised and .050 numbers are the same everywhere i can find it. One presumes it's likely a comp ground cam (perhaps one of the old Crane patterns) but it doesn't seem to match their catalog cams. the Specs cant be right for advertised at .006 or similar.

Anyway.

If you have not already found it, you may find this of interest.

http://fordification.com/tech/engine-perches.htm

The Perches should be the same i6 to FE but will be repositioned. the isolators bolt to the block, if you find some that aren't junk let us know...

Nice, I presume with the Morel Lifters that's a hyd roller?

Thank You SS, had not even thought about that.

I'll be back with some pictures. Rocker is unsalvageable ... sort of upset with myself as apparently i did not tighten that adjuster last time around.

Thanks Barry

Its a bad week for Erson Rockers (Hi TunnelWedge.)

Pulled it apart and was going to run through the measurements, take some videos and so forth see if you all could spot any gotchas ... adjuster for #7 intake is laying in the head...  ???

I'll pull it tomorrow and triage.... if i cant repair the rocker i'll have to access if i want to drop a grand or more on a new set of rollers or do something different...
