Interesting coolant flow, where are those block thermostats located?

Input shaft in the truck tranny is smallblock length, even for an FE. The tuck bell is deeper but there are three ways to solve it. I have done all three in my truck for the various transmissions.
One is use smaller OD pilot set deeper into the crank so the splines don't bottom out. This moves the tranny forward and you may need to cut the throwout bearing collar down  too. The splines are long enough for that.

You can modify the input shaft, usually the crank is deep enough there is no need to cut the pilot tip but the splines will bottom into the pilot bushing. The splines can be cut back to lengthen the pilot tip.

Another way is to make a spacer between the bell and trans.

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Re: 2 inch wide leaf springs for 66 Comet??
« on: December 02, 2018, 02:46:19 AM »
On my 66 Caliente convertible I used 2" wide springs from my 64 Comet. The convertible won't allow for widening the wheel tubs because of where the top rams are but the springs gain space to make a 275 tire fit comfortably.

What a coincidence Leny is the guy.

I'm not sure you need to be a Maytag repairman parts if that first picture is your car.

Leaving the two banger or using a 350/Turbo350/Maverick 8" ?   ;)

Mill a shallow dish into the pistons.

The only thing you will be "Intercepting" with a 332 - 2V will be diesel Vanagons and overheated Corvettes in limp mode.

On the "no idea what brand" ones, they almost look like Crites/MadDog but I don't think they have just one left tube under the crossmember like that though.

I had Cyclones on my 67 Comet with a 4 speed, as I recall the clutch crossbar lower lever hit and the shaft goes above the rear tube rather than running between tubes. Been a while, that was 1980. I remember them hitting the shock towers and being a bugger to install.

I have an inspection camera, a buddy brought over his new China stainless headers for his Mustang. He hadn't yet put them on but just to show off his jewel-like purchase. I stick the inspection camera down a tube and the first one I tried had the tube end at the wall of the tube it "Y's" to. There was a small hole, maybe an inch or less that whole 1 5/8" pipe would have to flow through. No way to get a grinder or torch in there.

I have had several pairs of those heads and none have had those end plugs, perhaps just very early in the model year. Weren't Edsels a "57 1/2" car, with production started in Spring 57?

Factory manifolds don't route the tubes anything like those. Not modified 426 Hemi ones either.

Those aren't factory manifolds, they appear to be custom cast like the ones on the Ardun at the SEMA show.

Hmmm, you have all the pieces in the pictures (which I only looked at now!)
As far as I know he never made a High Riser set since there isn't room under the rockers to run something over the pedestals.

There was a steel plate that went under the stands and that is what the narrow steel upright end stands bolted to. Sounds like you have an incomplete setup.
Contact Ken at Oregon Cams. He will have those parts.

I am surprised some of you don't know ::)

66 390 GT only, the early 67 used the same left side but had a unique right side made from a 361-391FT valve cover with a tab remove and chromed.

But if we are speculating... wasn't there a chrome dress up package for the 7 Litre that used these valve covers, a chromed master cylinder cap and rad cap?

Oh wow. I saw one picture of it with no caption... I assumed a 4 banger with adapted valve cover.
