Thanks for the responses. They are Manley Nextex springs so this isn't a normal street build, I should have said that in the post. Mineral spirits is a weak solvent but good for cleaning.

MY first time doing my own valve springs. Chamfer and remove all sharp edges for retainers and seats. Articles I've read say not to clean with solvent. What do you use to clean the grit off? I understand if you don't oil the springs right after cleaning as rust could start. What is the proper procedure???

Years ago, in the early 1970’s after breaking a few and not thinking about running a bolt thru , my brother made a solid set. He took measurements and removed the rubber. He then took strap steel and welded it to the outside perimeter. I’ve used them to this day. Not something I would do on a street vehicle as you really feel engine vibration in the car. Solid engine mount be sure to use urethane trans mount...
Used these on 4 different FE motors from 12,11,10 and 9 seconds and it doesn’t affect the mount area

FE Technical Forum / Re: Lakewood bellhousing- adjustment door

Looking at previous posts the question of disc air gap has been talked about. The only reason I was thinking of putting a “window” in was to do that adjustment being this is a dual disc setup I’m going to try. Looking at all the pictures the windows are good for counter weight change but getting a feeler gauge in between the disc would not be feasible.  To get to the disc you would only be 1 1/2” back from the edge , am I not seeing something right? Maybe I’m over thinking what I will need to do with this clutch.
The only thing I ever adjust is pressure and not even that often.

Fekbmax
Very nice if I could do that from the top. Not feasible with my car.Was that modification recertified?

I heard from Chris Hyatt of Hyatt Racing Clutches that I could have what Larry did by Lakewood and recertified if the bell was newer than 1996.

Has anyone had the ability to have an adjustment door put on from Lakewood or someone else?
I’m to the point that I will need to check air gap and will need to have access at the 6 o’clock position
