Just got a set of factory Adjustable Rocker assembly’s for my 390.  So I need the cup and ball pushrods.  What companies do you recommend?  I have see 2 different diameters as well as a few different lengths that they say are stock.  I don’t have the pushrods for the existing motor to measure.  It is out of a ‘65 Tbird and has C4 heads if that matters.  Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thank you.

So living in Hell, aka Phoenix Az.  For the most part the motor is stock 390 from a 65 tbird and going into a 58 Merc Monterey.  Not planning on a whole lot of summer driving but even now it’s in the 60’s and 70’s.  Any suggestions on radiators that flow and cool more efficiently?  Thanks in advance

390 with a C6.  Mostly off of recommendations as I’m totally green to cars.  Floor shifter, leave all the original controls for the looks!

Glad I’m inline for a set of those valve covers like the blue set, but man!! You show us that concept heads and then say limited production!  Hahaha!  I’ll be keeping an eye out

Okay, thanks for that! If anything I’ll keep it and tear it down with my 10yo boy

Not sure we’re to ask or find out so I figured I would ask you guys.  As the MEL board I found was dead.  Any demand for the old 383 MEL or interchangeable parts to different motors.  I’m pulling out the 383 of my 58 Monterey along with the trans and dropping in a 390Fe.  Thanks in advance.

Craig, in Phoenix.  Pretty new to automotive side of mechanics.  Did Harley’s during my service in the Marines and after till about ‘08.  Had a nice ‘78 F100 with a 302 in it when I was young.  Fast forward to few years ago I sold all my bikes and picked up a ‘48 Fleetline. And after that a ‘58 Mercury Monterey.  Right now tearing out the original MEL 383 and Merc-o-matic  and putting in a 390/ c6.   Found the board while hunting for valve covers and boom here I am.

Thanks for the input!  On the Edelbrock line there is the Performer that is Idle and up and then the RPM Version that goes 1500 and up.  Other than that what’s the difference?
I’m also looking into exhaust manifolds for it.  Headers vs manifolds.  The car is going to be lowered a few inches.  It’s a manual steering model and it looks like the 390 is alittle narrower than the MEL 383 we are pulling out of it.

On the topic of Intakes- and full disclaimer I'm a newbie to automotive mechanics as my background was in Harley’s prior to 8 yrs ago.  I have a 390 out of a 65 Thunderbird that I'm told is mostly stock.  I am looking at putting an new intake on it and was looking at ideas from you guys.  I reached out to a few BT dealers but not gotten answered yet about their intake.  And also seen for about half the price the Edelbrock Performer intake.    It’s going into my ‘58 Mercury Monterey Project.  Thanks
