FE Technical Forum / Re: should I be happy with this?

I think you did ok. Love them or hate them if it wasn't for guys like Ron and Jim back in the day keeping FE high performance alive we may not be so lucky today to have all the great new modern parts available.  They do look alot like the pop setup and either way I think you got a very decent setup  and goodies  to go along with it for a good deal..
Good score in my book..

It's a very good block and ready to go. Everything has been done, however like I said it block filled and would be race only.

Always wanted to see one of the kuntz/Booze  Fe's in a light tube frame car. If I'm not mistaken they were running 8.70's in a nearly 3600lb when they quit. . Loose a thousand pounds and 10 years more advanced FE tech  and it would seem that upper 7's could surely be reached.
Who has the quickest non SOHC FE in a full body car, be it full tube or other wise  ?

FE Technical Forum / Re: Tunnelport single or dual carb?
« on: October 23, 2015, 07:27:57 PM »
I'm thinking cool factor,  since it's mostly street, a 2x4 setup on a tunnel port would look and perform awesomely. . And in a 66 galaxie! !! 2 door ?  Awesome. That was my first car ever. No tunnel port though lol, just a 390 4v.

That sounds awesome. I'd for sure use the tunnel ports if you can come up with all the parts and pieces. Good luck and keep us posted. . By all means, the galaxie deserves an FE .

I think the prices you offered were very fair considering they still Needed to have the work done. The after market block would for sure be your best bet if it's within you're budget  . You have little choices with the 27 stuff. Now me, I always use the smaller bore stuff so I can make about any old garden block work.
