FE Technical Forum / oil pan mod's
« on: June 08, 2015, 02:26:26 PM »
Any suggestions on any kind of modifications (besides a good windage tray) that may need to be done to a full sump 9/10 qt truck pan for drag racing application's. ?  I use wheelie bars so I'm not doing giant wheels stands. I use the big fat tube rear pick-up with a good brace of course. How about any good suggestions on a aftermarket full sump pan.? Most aftermarket pans I see are either front sump, rear sump, or road race variety.  Does anyone make a stamped steel full sump pan or is a fabricated pan my only option ? ..

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Aluminium cleaner.
« on: June 07, 2015, 09:27:29 AM »
Any good ideas on a good aluminium cleaner ?  Looking for something to clean heads, intakes, satin finish aluminium wheels, ect. At one time there was a product called "greaseoff" that could be gotten from hardware store's.  It worked way better than any of the royal purple type stuff.. I haven't seen it for a few years though. I have really good luck with the "etching" type wheel cleaner and it makes heads and manifolds look brand new but its really exspensive to be using on large parts. Was wondering if any of you guys have ran across anything that works realy well.

 Older car.. 1995 - 2001 10.90's
390- .060 over, TRW 12/1, .588 solid lift isky ,  CJ heads , c-6, ladder bar.  10.80's

2002-2004, old car

This was my race car back in 2002 - 2004, home built tube chassis, not a kit, fiberglass front end and doors and deck lid. car completely home built by me except for machine work on engine and cylinder heads. All assembled by me. I did all the fabrication, bent and fitted every stick of pipe,  welding, ect. It was my first real go at a full chassis build, it was a ladder bar car.
The car now (avatar pict) is very different from this as i have built another chassis and made wholesale changes. 4 link and its a completely different animal now and ill be posting it in the project section as im now just waiting on getting things together. The car now is much lighter and much more of a full race piece from engine to chassis .
I just wanted to post the old car here because i feel that for what it was it ran very well.
