If it operates freely with the engine not running it is ok. With the engine running, vacuum holds it closed until the primaries are at wide open, then the secondaries are easy to open. I think you're looking for a problem that doesn't exist. BTW with a properly operating vacuum secondary carb. you will hardly feel the secondaries open. Just seems like one big 2bbl.

I used SEM but you are limited to color selection. You could try acrylic enamel with a flex agent like they use in bumper covers.

Just tell your wife to slow down. cars handle so well today that is easy to drive them hard without giving it a second thought.
Tire brand, profile, air pressure and road surface all play into wear. It only becomes a concern to me when a tire has to be replaced because of uneven wear. You can always have the alignment checked. I've had some new vehicles that had horrible factory alignment.

I'd and a quart of Rislone and change it out after a couple hundred miles, and then maybe half a quart for the next 500 miles or so. Always works for me.

Walmart along with Duracell are made by Deka right here in PA. If you take a battery back to Walmart under warranty, they will put it on their tester and you'll probably have to wait an hour or so for the results, but I buy a lot of Walmart's and have good luck with them. For your app. I think you can't go wrong with a Napa gold.
