Non-FE Discussion Forum / Finally summer here
« on: June 13, 2023, 03:54:32 PM »
Summer is late a couple of weeks this year but now finally its here
so i gave the rowing boat a new coat of  pinetar, linsead oil, turpentine
and me and the wife had a picknick

It is beautiful down by the river at my moms place

same place one month ago

The other day me and the wife took a trip up the river

Kamlunge rapids

Bondersbyn

Lake Storlappträsk

In Sweden we have this old right that every free man is allowed to roam the land and stay for the night. So here and there it is built smal
"bbq"  places with tables and benches and some kind protection from the wind and rain. A group of guys from the closest village goes together
and build it. I suspect it is often to getaway from the wifes and to drink beer ;D ;D This is a such place upstreams the rapids

absolutly beautiful place with tabel/bences a fire ring a log shelter wit dry firewood and a even a  Boule court :o. And you hear the thunder from the rapids in the background

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Expertly abused hood
« on: June 12, 2023, 04:38:50 PM »
An old childhood friend have a 65 Impala stationwagon.

 That he after much
trouble mange to get a 468 built and dynoed.  600something horses dont remember
He have a tunnel ram so he needed a hole in the hood. The only hood he could find in
Sweden was a new repro hood. He left the hood to some "expert" that managed to more or less destroy it.
it would not even fit the car after that and the hole for the carbs was to small :o ;D ;D ;D ;
So i prommised to help him, he stoped by today so i cut away the junk that was welded to the hood and
straighted it up and got i to fit in the hole and close atleast,  some further adjustments needed.
I cut the hole for the carbs about the needed size

Tomorrow im going to make a ridge around the hole, I "split" the center ridge to 3/4 of the widht and make the inner side 90 deg down
around the hole and make a "shield" to put between carbs and airfilter that reach outside that ridge that he could put on when its raining

I sold a -54 Royal enfield Bullet that my dad bought 25 years ago just beacuse it was for sale
Sold it to my friend Ivo, so we cleared a way(tunnel) to get it out of the barn.
And since he is from Austria he insited that we had to drink beer, and as he is also my Doctor  who
am i to argue with that ;D. We washed it changed oil put in some fresh gas and tried to kickstart it.
It wanted to start but returnspring to the kickpedal broke, so we decided to push start it down hill from my house
As we worked us closer and closer to a heart attack it almost started.
A neighbour came driving with his fourwheeler so i asked him to tow start us, he was sceptical that i would survive that ;D
Anyway we got it running and it smoked like crazy.dad had oiled the cylinder generously :o no wounder it was hard to start

We drowe around  for a while ,then we put the bike on the stand and sat down at the bus stop outside my house  looking at the bike.
Thats when the cops arrived ;D ;D someone had called them on us but they just slowed down and looked at us like we where droped down
by a UFO ;D ;D ;D ;D

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Another funeral
« on: March 31, 2022, 11:07:37 AM »
Today i have folowed Eero, a childhood friend to the grave. Brain tumor , he was given 3 months to live.
He fighted for 10 years, the last years was awful.
Airforce officer and helicopter pilot, tumor on the headset side as many helicopter pilots get according
to my Doctor friend.
Remember first time we met when we were 5, he hit me in the head with a Oxy/Acetylen torch.
I guess it was his Finnish way to say lets be friends ;D
As kids we had a lot of fun and sometimes we barely survived the fun like the time we took a full
package of blackpowder of his father and.....
And all the mailboxex we blew up with firecrackers, bought or homebrewed
He was the first one i saw live with a pair of Cowboy boots we was 9 or 10 i sooo wanted a pair myself
Figure that, two  9 year old punkass kids running around in cowboyboots and uggly 70s clothes.
We thoght we was cool. But we probably  looked like idiots

Matces was a problem to get, but we found out this old wierd guy Sven. Who gave us matches and candy and soda
and wanted us to stay and hang out and ....nahhhh something in his behavior told us to leave as soon
as we got matches. Found out later he was a pedofile

Now at the dinner after the funeral i had an old guy on the other side of the table. We started to talk
then i recognised him same age as me ::). he used to hang out with us sometimes, then he became
a feared criminal/fighter went to jail we lost contact now he is an old tired man.

Me and Eero lost contact he joined the Airforce and moved away. Met him now and then when he was home
and we bump into each others in town. Or i met him at his brother tireshop and now he is gone...Thats life i guess

Nowadays i wisit more funerals than weddings :'( whos next of the childhood friends ?

« on: March 18, 2022, 12:56:29 PM »
I have always been facinated by abandoned places.
today i found this.

Ex. Karl Bergdal Bil, in Korpilombolo
It was a big GM dealership, they had a Shell gas station and a tire shop to
Here it is in the 60s

Here is a Cafe`that was at one end of the building,

Everything abandoned like most of the villages and towns up there
since the logging got mecanised
My friend bought a 66 Galaxie here in 84-85 something. I have told
the story about that here, when we stoped the serial killer
in a Mercedes van with a dead cow in the back, and i borrowed
the serial killers knife to cut of
the nylonrope from the cow to use as a fanbelt ;D
