When i assembled my short block and turned it over by hand. I noticed it left oil
on top in nr 2 cyl. So i thought i screwed up an turned the rings upside down
pulled out the piston and checked but the rings was the right way according to
markings. I shrugged it of as a to a excessive oiling of that cyl.
But now i got nr 2 exhaust port coated with oil
not much but its there,
All the other ports are dry
No smoke or nothing out of the exhaust manifold. Did i have my usual luck and got a ringset
with one ring marked the wrong way or what?
Will drive it the rest of the summer and see if it clears up when i get the rings
broken in. But i doubt it will
Anyone with any ideas whats the problem?

A friend that i have not seen in many years called last night and wanted me to identifie what brakes he had on his hotrod projekt so i made a trip to his town today
First pics is his sons -54 volvo with a tunnelramed SBC in a car that wheights 2000+ lbs
second pics is his sons 62 Belair with home built chassie
third sets is his Model A Tudor on a homebuilt 32 chassie with a 468 chevy

I removed the frontclip from the Galaxie to paint the
firewall and frontend of frame when the engine is out
But there is no way to do it with any satisfying result
without tearing down the frontsuspension so i just
degreasing it for now and tear it down this winter..
So where can i buy suspension bushings preferably
better than stock,Springs,shocks,swaybar?

Anyone that knows the paintcode for the black
paint on the firewall and inner fenders on a 64
Galaxie
My is painted with some satin black paint but
under that is some more "glossy" paint but
not 100% glossy i think. Can be that its thin
and no primer that take away some of the shine

Was to a friend today that i not See so much nowadays
He had bought a really cool car .even though it was a Chevy
A 58 Impala somebody transplanted the drivetrain from
a Chevelle 396 SS in the early 70s. A 402/ fourspeed
positraction rear no P/B no P/S
straight pipes out in front of the rear wheels
Hurst shifter, American racing torquetrust wheels,
Edelbrock Tarantula intake , big Holley DP ,fenderwell
headers Air shocks, the SS396 emblem on the glovebox
No option this or option that with NOS air in the tires
Repainted in the 70s in stock colour untouched since
except for a new stock interior a few years ago
Just like i remember the BIG BOYS cars from the 70s
I left with a big smile on my face

I have a -64 Galaxie with alternator but dont remember
how it is mounted. If my memory serves me right the
alt. is mounted low hanging below the bolt that bolt it
to the block.I have painted a set to mount it high abow
that bolt. I cant move the car so i can open the hood
right now so does someone know before i mount the
alternator on the engine

apart and meassured wear and ordered me some extra parts i needed
