Well nets are not mandatory at my ET.. I guess the key term is stock body on windows..  I guess I would do nets instead of windows.. if I had to..I am resisting windows because of the flimsy fiberglass hollow doors.. I guess i could fab some like Pro Mod or Pro stock car would use, but it would require a lot of strengthening of the door structure.

Ditto on the all powerful inspector/track owner.. Al Corda would not allow me to run because my car could not fit into a class... Had all the right safety gear..  My head explodes reading the rules and then everyone's interpretation.  I asked the question on Yellow Bullet and one guy claimed anything above 10.0 did not need them.. Another guy says WRONG!  Of course trying to explain the situation to an inspector over the phone might not give a favorable response. I emailed the tech guy from North Central NHRA.. Crickets....

Top is removable.   Not sure what class this car would fit into. It's  just for vintage. exhibition. and occasional bracket race... Possibly up to the track?  Don't want to drive 500 miles and get turned away.. Adding side windows would be a PITA.  My other car is a full body on a altered chassis.. No windows, Arm restrains required but that's  centerline seating with a cage. Thought we might have a tech inspector on the forum..

Jeff, it has a Y block so aero is not an issue when you have more power than you need.  LOL.. It's a 10.0 car..  Are you on the land speed record car team?

Just finishing up a tube chassis glass 57 Thunderbird. My question is about window rules.. I am running in the 10.0s  don't want to do all it takes when you go faster.. are side windows or nets required?  What if I use arm restraints instead?  How about back window? Is one required

I found the same thing as odd.. I checked with a classic car dealer I know, and he said there are still a few states that allow the dealer to title in the dealership's name.. Not sure about Ky

Doug it was a fake website using a legitimate dealer's name.. When you call the number you are put in contact with the scammer..The cars on the site were all pulled from other ads.  Prices were attractive..They provided a copy of the title and vin of the car they were advertising.  I received a very official bill of sale with electronic signature of the real owner of the business. Next step would have been to wire the money.
3 red flags   Sales person did not have a Kentucky accent  lol.. They really wanted to get the deal done quickly,  and the one thing that caused me to dig deeper was the offer of free delivery withing 1000 miles   Who does that.... Checking the background you get info on the legitimate dealer so everything looks OK...Thank god Greg had someone actually put eyes on the place and uncover the scam... The ads are still up on Facebook

Shout out to Greg. He saved my butt on the 67 Cougar.. It was a total scam but a very elaborate one. I nearly bit, but he was able to send a friend over to the dealer and found out someone had stole their dealer identity and already several people had wired money on the Cougar..  This is an example of the great people that participate in this forum.. Greg thanks again.. if there is ever anything you need... Well maybe a Jay Brown built Cammer would be off the table.. lol

That would be a huge help.. It's probably legit, but the pictures in the ad are from when the car was on Bring a trailer auction. That makes me wary..I'll send a link to their site.. 67 Cougar Limefire green

I am looking at a 67 Cougar at ADM Auto Sales limited  942 Clearfield St Morehead Ky.  Was listed on Facebook..  Price is more than right and dealers says no charge delivery to Wi.  If it's a real deal I can't pass it up.  But need to allay my natural skepticism.. Has anybody heard of or know this dealership?  I would be willing to pay for someone's time just to lay eyes on it and confirm it is the car being advertised..Not looking for a full inspection.

Can't be too careful these days

Ted Eaton is on this forum occasionally.  Eaton Balancing is his business.. He can tell you everything there is to know about crank balancing.. He is in Tx.. but shipping a crank is not hugely expensive.  Also Adney Brown in Detroit area has done a lot of FE cranks and is well know in performance circles
