Hey Hey, I like the looks of that block!  I thought you might go that direction when I saw you had a block issue............ I think I'd want to just leave the block sitting around in my living room for several weeks so I could admire it before starting the new build.

looked high and low for a manual transmission that would hold up to 800+ foot pounds of torque and 1000 HP.  The only one that would work was a Lenco, and those things steal more horsepower than a good automatic.

Just my .02 worth,
I can't personally confirm the HP rating with my own experience or anyone I personally know; but I was told by G-Force transmissions that their GF-5R can handle up to 1300 HP depending on the weight of the vehicle.  And the Liberty LSC5100 is showing "Rated to approximately 1,100 horsepower".   Heavier vehicles of course lower that rating.  I'd suppose that the combination of several factors, including mainly the clutch tune with a "Soft-Loc" style slipper clutch plays a large part in it's survival........... FWIW, I'd have to admit that driving my F100 with it's GF-5R, Soft-Loc,  and the vertical-gate shifter isn't always "Fun" on the street, but it can be done.  But come time to wind it up and run through the gears, I wouldn't have it any other way...... but I'm also not trying to win bracket races week in and week out, nor do I have 1000 HP on tap (but I'd like to some day).

Battlestar, I think most of us are "Looking for a number", the numbers that mean the most to me are on an ET slip, more important to me than a Flowbench or dyno sheet. ;D

Luckily I've been to poor to worry about "big" ET numbers.  Only one I worry about is the one I write on the car before a round.

It's fun chasing a lower ET number, and I'm guilty of that, it's kind of addicting.  But something tells me that Larry's approach is far more sane.

I had missed this post, sorry to hear your issues, but I had almost the exact same thing happen with my TKO in 2016.  I had it face plated, and it shifted well at all RPMs.  Making a pass at the strip, I shifted into 3rd and nothing was there, just broke all the teeth off 3rd, and split the front of the case, even with a TKO "girdle" on it......... Seems the TKO is a good street trans, but not meant for abuse on the drag-strip with any significant power and/or vehicle weight. I've since gone with a GF-5R and it's been great at the strip, but it sucks not having the OD gear on the street.

Take $110 for them? ..... If so, I'll take them..... Might serve a purpose on a future project I've started thinking about.

I know this is probably a closed issue at this point, but I saw it a lot like the last 2 posts from Doug and RJP.  If I were in that situation, and the money wasn't seriously needed for some sort of financial crisis; then I wouldn't sell my junk for $100K.  My junk isn't worth that kind of money as it sits, but it's worth far more than that in 30+ years of blood, sweat, and effort since I've done 99% of the work on it myself.  And I did my truck the way I wanted to, it's still what I want (for good, bad, or ugly), and even if I had that sum of money I'd still want my truck, which I'd then have to build all over from scratch; and I'm too tired to do it all over again.  Some people have multiple hot rods, so parting with one isn't that big a deal perhaps ...... I'm in Georgia, and I was hoping to see Jay run as well as Cody L's truck, looks like both of those are out.  Hopefully both of the Millers will be running.  I'm planning on being there for at least one day since it's closer for me than normal.  I was planning on Monday, but Sunday T & T might be the best day to actually meet people.

Jay or anyone in the know? I've probably just missed seeing something that was posted here, but what are Jay's plans for competing in this years DW?  Too busy with manufacturing projects for this year, or going this year and just top secret at the moment?

Does the line lock engage every time you push the clutch in? Is the switch adjusted to where it only disengages when the pedal is almost fully up?

My setup includes a relay, so that the shifter switch is the master switch and it triggers the relay, and then the pedal switch becomes active.  (That may not be worded perfectly)  So no, my clutch switch isn't activating the line lock or 2-step on it's own every time the clutch is applied.  Mine is releasing closer to the floor, I had to fine tune the exact switch on/off point to match the clutch engagement point, that can be a little tedious.

I hit a .5 light but never let go of the line lock button for a bit. 2.1 60 ft time and ran a 11.80. Second run I felt a bit better but didn’t get my rpms up enough on the burnout and the car drifted sideways a bit. Still had my thumb stuck on the button at the start 1.9 60 ft 11.35. Third and last run I got the burnout right but still had a sticky thumb on the button

You're not the only one to do that for sure.  I've done that several times, and I finally set up a clutch pedal switch to release my line lock and 2 step on launch.  And I've still managed to keep my thumb on my shifter switch after launching.  Yea, that sure ruins a 60' time.

I put a 3G on my 68 F100, and kept the dual V-belt pulley, and was able to use original mounting brackets.  IIRC I had to add a washer behind the pulley make it work correctly, but it all worked out well for me.  (Also, IIRC, I believe mine was off a '95 Mustang, I've got notes somewhere)
