Just got it back. A VERY BIG thank You to Brent Lykins. He recommended the molnar rods, racetech pistons and speced  out the cam for Me. Every time I ordered parts they came within a week. And every time I called He answered. I live in WA State so that’s pretty damn good to get stuff that soon.so here’s the sheet 672 HP 572 TQ   HP at 6700 TQ at 5500. It won’t let me post the sheet wrong format.

Thankyou all for the responses. My 482 is together with a flat tap pet cam already.  But looking at the morels gives second thoughts. I will use the morels to replace the early comp roller lifters in My 428 as planned. Thanks again.

I have a neighbor that has a Beautiful 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door Hardtop. While talking to Him He says it has the interceptor motor in it. I want to go look and see what this sticker looks like. He says it’s the original, one. The car has 40 K on it and is really a nice car. My question is what was the availability and differences between the 332 and the 352. I kinda thought from poor memory the 332 was the interceptor motor. Did they come in both solid and hyd lifter ?  Was the interceptor a police motor only or could be had in any car. 58 was the beginning so how about a little history refresher.

FE Technical Forum / Thank You Brent Lykins !

Being 67 yrs Old I’ve had My share of bad luck dealing with out of state vendors. Wrong parts, crappy parts but some good. I hate waiting long for parts then get no response when trying to find out why. Won’t answer phones or email or texts. At one time I said if it’s not within 6 hrs drive I won’t deal with them. I just want to put out a HUGE THANKYOU. To Brent at B2. I have done business with Him a few times now and really couldn’t be happier. I ordered with Brent’s help and expertise, pistons , rings and a cam. I ordered them TEN DAYS AGO, in hand today. Cam is a special grind Brent had done especially for My build. Same with the pistons, special order for My build.  Ten days Man ten days. Start machining Monday. The day I ordered He returned My call saying He placed both orders !  That’s Service.  Thank You again Brent it’s a real pleasure doing business with You.

FE Technical Forum / Re: Torque values, head size
« on: September 02, 2018, 08:12:47 PM »
Thank You all for the replys. I will go back with some factory style grade 8 bolts. BUT about My question on head size wouldnt a large head bolt produce more torque than a small head bolt. Picture a 3/8' bolt with a head or a allen head. Wouldnt the hex tighten the shank a bit more than an allen if both torqued to 40 lbs. It just seems to Me a hex would be tighter.

I have some ARP SS  6 piont bolts to replace the the factory ones for the side cross bolts on My 427. My question is, would the torque be the same for both 3/8" bolts. The reason I ask is because the factory bolt has a 9/16" head and the ARP has a 3/8"  Thinking of leverage the larger head would have over the smaller head. The torque wrench doesnt know the difference but the bolt would. What would the difference be if so between the two.
