What is the approximate compression ratio everyone is seeing with a set of Speed Pro L-2291F 30 pistons at zero deck used with C1AE heads?

Thanks

FE Technical Forum / 428CJ/390GT Cam
« on: March 13, 2021, 05:01:18 PM »
I'm putting together a low buck 390 to put in my '66 F-100.  I'm using a factory 390GT/428CJ cam that we had on hand.  Do these cams work best installed straight up or advanced/retarded?  It is a 390 with cleaned up CJ heads and a Performer RPM intake.

FE Technical Forum / 1964 P-code 390
« on: November 11, 2020, 04:23:45 PM »
It looks like we will be doing a 390-330 build this winter.  We have a complete, what we think is untouched '64 p code 390-330 engine.  It will go into my P-code 1964 Galaxie 4-speed, when it is done.  I believe the heads on these are the same as the 390-300?  How about the intake.  Is there any difference between a 390-300 & 390-330 except the solid lifter block and cam?  I am aware of the cast iron shorties on the 330.  How is the stock solid lifter cam?  I'm considering a Comp 270S but could possibly stay with the stock cam if it looks ok upon disassembly.  Would these heads benefit form 2.09/1.65 valves without any porting?  I'm trying to get a came plan together before we tear into this thing.

FE Technical Forum / 2017 FERR Thank You!!!
« on: May 01, 2017, 04:39:18 PM »
Thanks to everyone who attended the 2017 Race & Reunion. My only regret about the entire event is that I couldn't spend more time talking to everyone who was there! I felt like one minute I was pulling in Friday morning and the next I was pulling out Saturday evening!

It was an honor to receive the "Best of Show" award with my '61 Fairlane. It is so "new" that we just had the front end aligned Thursday morning and it still has break in oil in the engine. There were so many cool cars there!! Thanks again to everyone who voted for my car!!

I promise next year that I will bring the "Trouble Maker"!! I must have been asked 30 times where it was. LOL It was ready to go but I really wanted to show off my shiney new toy!!

Thanks to Bob, Donna and Doug, Dan, Red and all of the sponsors for making the 2017 FERR the best and biggest event so far. The event continues to grow and planning for next year has already started. 2018 is going to be great!!! Please tell a friend or 5 about the event. Word of mouth is the best advertising that we have. What started out as a dream of mine in 2011 has turned into one of the premier car events in the country. I really want us to break 200 FEs next year!!

Remember this isn't a Ford event, it is a FE event!!!

Thanks again and see you all in 2018!!!

Blair will also be bringing some of his products for all to see at his display. Blair joins Survival Motorsports and Carl's Ford Parts as event sponsors. The event continues to get bigger and better!!! You know you need to be there. Spread the word!!!

Ok folks, the holidays are basically behind us so it's time to start thinking about the 2015 FE Race & Reunion!! Hard to believe this will be our third time doing this and it gets better every year. This will be without a doubt the largest gathering of FE/FT powered vehicles ever. If you have been there in the past you know how special of an event it is. If you haven't been there yet, you need to start planning for April 24 & 25, 2015!! We have already confirmed that Dick Brannan and Hubert Platt will be back this year. There is also a rumor that another former Ford Racing "super hero" may be attending. More on that later if it happens!! This year will be a full FE only two day event including a huge cookout on Friday evening. Keep and eye on our FB page and website for updates. http://www.fairlanet.com/FE/ This years event will also be dedicated to the memory of Phil Bonner. Spread the word and be there!!!!

FE Technical Forum / Jesel Valvetrain Joins 2014 FE Race & Reunion
« on: February 25, 2014, 05:39:26 PM »
Jesel Valvetrain has come onboard to be part of the 2014 FE Race & Reunion. They will be awarding one of their FE belt drive systems to the winner of the "Fastest Thunderbolt Standing" challenge. They will also be providing other items including Jesel gift certificates to be awarded to participants of this years event. Jesel will also have a display showing all of their FE products at this years event. It is very rewarding to have a company such as Jesel come to us and want to be part of our event.

Thanks goes out to these great supporters such as Survival Motorsport, Carl's Ford Parts, Jesel and all of those folks who have contributed to make this event so great!!!
