Private Classifieds / STARLINER PARTS
« on: May 05, 2021, 09:06:48 AM »
My friend Bob Helms just recently bought a completed '61 Starliner and along with the car came some extra Starliner/ Galaxie parts.  Bob does not need these and I (also a Starliner owner) suggested he make them available to the Starliner community.  He can be reached at RNHelms@aol.com.

Private Classifieds / c4ae-g heads
« on: February 08, 2021, 01:48:04 PM »
I've had these heads 35-40 years and never used them. I'm trying to get rid of stuff so my family is not faced with that burden when I'm gone. I've cleaned them and chased all threaded holes, which are good. I'd like to put a price on them but honestly I've only used aluminum heads in the last 30 or so years so I have no idea what a fair price is.  Can anyone suggest a fair price? I can't upload more pictures on this site, I guess they are too large, but I do have more of all angles of the heads. I can send them in an email if desired. If buyer is  not satisfied I will return money. Buyer pays shipping.  PM me.  I'm in Texas

FE Technical Forum / turbo engine spark plug type
« on: October 01, 2020, 09:36:09 AM »
My friend Bill, who is a Ford guy and has owned several FE powered cars in his 68 years, has almost completed his build of a 300 Ford six with turbocharging and fuel injection.  He's searching for info on a good spark plug to use.  I've told him of the good help and information always available on this site (he's not a member of any forums) and he asked me to post this.  Of course it's 18mm with the iron Ford head.  Any turbo guys have suggestions I can relay to him?
Thanks.

Private Classifieds / ARP main studs
« on: May 09, 2020, 05:55:11 PM »
For Sale:  3 or 4 years ago when I was building my last 428 I ordered a set of ARP main bolts.  When they arrived they were main studs.  I had used the wrong part number when ordering. I decided to use them but after I torqued the main caps I remembered that using studs versus bolts changed the bearing clearance.  So I removed the studs, ordered the correct part number for bolts and finished building the 428.  So now I have the studs for sale.  They have only been torqued one time, removed and placed in the box and put on a shelf.  $85 includes free shipping.

Non-FE Discussion Forum / "Ford Performance".....
« on: February 08, 2020, 03:37:13 PM »
Anyone who has known me for a while will tell you that I usually don't like to be in the spotlight or the center of attention.  However when I learned that "Ford Performance" had done this writeup about me it got me to thinking about how much I like reading about others stories / histories about their cars and car experiences.  So I decided to come out of the shadows and post this.  Some of you on this forum may have already read this on the "FP" email newsletter but for others I hope you can enjoy it.  And there is a FE connection....three of the pictured vehicles have FE engines in them.

MSD 6Al-2 ignition box.  I built the engine for these MSD components in Nov. 2015.  I've since driven the car only 1,003 miles in that time (other projects, etc.) and as is so often the case with MSD quality/reliability these days the two step in the ignition box malfunctioned.  I'm done with MSD products after having used them for decades.  Selling the distributor for $200 (no problems with it) and you can have the ignition box for free.  It can probably be repaired/replaced by MSD but I don't have any confidence in them anymore.  I have the original instructions and the springs and weights to re-curve the dist.  First person to contact me at my email (I'm not often here) 6061ford@att.net will get first opportunity to purchase.  $200 plus shipping.  I take PayPal and U.S. Postal money orders only.

FE Technical Forum / Holley question....
« on: March 29, 2018, 04:59:23 PM »
I bought a complete factory 6V setup....original manifold, carbs, linkage, fuel log and air cleaner.  Upon disassembling the 2 barrel carbs I found one of the secondary carbs had a metering block numbered 2085 instead of the correct #3434. Does anyone know what the #2085 came on originally?  Compared to a normal metering block...at least the ones I'm familiar with.... it has a California shaped channel located on the lower left and there are two channels at 5:00 and 7:00 in relation to the power valve.  Of course the original secondary metering blocks had no power valve.  Should I block the power valve and just use this metering block?  or find another?  Really curious what the#2085 came on....I've searched the internet and found nothing.  Maybe I just didn't look in the right place....

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Since 1962.....
« on: January 16, 2018, 12:28:29 PM »
when I bought my first Ford, '48 two door, I've always been 100% loyal to Ford Motor Co.  After watching this video my admiration for Ford has been tarnished a little.  I've often wondered why Bob Glidden walked away from drag racing in 1997. Toward the end of this video he explains why.  After all he had done for the Ford brand the way they treated him is shameful.  And yet I have never heard him say a bad thing about Ford.  Maybe in private to his family/friends he did.....but never in public. At least to my knowledge.  What a class act of a man.  SHAME ON FORD! Or maybe I should say "Shame on the 1997 Ford Motor Co.
