FE Technical Forum / Installing tranny, won't go in all the way

Can't get tranny installed the last half inch (probably pilot shaft) no matter how much I move it around. I have the clutch working, and last time just pushing the clutch in was enough to let it slide in that last little bit. But this time that doesn't help.
 Anyone have any tricks/tips ?

my 427 with @ 3000 mi  showed a lot of carbon fouling on the top side of the intake valves . visable looking thru the weber intake runners. I was tearing the engine down to replace the heads .  Don't know if the deposits were oil or gas deposits,  Tops of pistons had same type of fouling.  Replacement heads (e-brok ) were rebuilt w
/ viton seals.
 After about 400 miles , I pulled the intake to put the 4bbl on, and noticed the new intake valves were coked up just like previous, in only a few hundred mi.
Any body here have a n answer as to what might be going on here ?  I think I saw a comment some where about timing.  Also gasoline formulation ?
Tried the search function, but no help.
I'm running 93 oct.
I remember Shell advertising some years ago, that shell had an additive in their gas that  kept the valves clean . Don't know if that is current or not.

Are there any better VC gaskets than the cork Felpro ones ?   They appear to be porous,  especially the lower rear corners  are wet.

I'm looking for a tool that I can use to replace valve springs and seals without removing the head on a FE 427, ebock heads.  The Lisle 36050 looks like the ticket, but I doubt it will work on our big stiff springs .  Tim Oelerich makes one, but pricy ?

FE Technical Forum / toploader w/ big input shaft, need proper press plate

My original set-up was std Mcleod press plate for FE 12" , big input shaft, but with Mcleod hyd t.o.b, replacing stock front brg retainer/t.o.b. tube.
After the HTOB blew out, decided to go mechanical (2013). Replaced the front housing with stock piece, and then needed tob, fork, etc . The front tube (1.75" dia ) needed a bigger tob. and the hole at the center of the fingers measures 3.125" dia. Mcleod had cut off the ends of the fingers to clear the tube, but they went too far, and I lost leverage with the shorter fingers.
I need a PP made for this set-up, but don't know who to go to. Anyone know what mfgr has the correct PP for the big input  T/L ?? Clutch is 12".

My Weber intake manifold ports were port matched to the taller 428 intake sizes before i got it some years ago, and I ported my E-bock heads to match the intake on the 1st re-build.
I am now rebuilding it again with a different set of  E-boks with the mid-rise int port sizes which are less tall than  the 428 size, closer to the mid rise 427 size (engine is 427)  and I was wondering if anyone here had ever made a port smaller using an epoxy  ( JB Weld) as opposed to welding build-up & re-grind to size . ??

The 'loaner" "C" type of valve spring compressor from Advance auto parts doesn't have the range or muscle for HP multiple spring set-up's.
What are you guys using ?

I need a new set of heads and I'm leaning towards Survival "FEloney" heads. I can't get ahold of Barry to see if he has any in stock (bare castings) and ask him if the valves and springs from my E-boks can be used with his heads. no answer on either phone # or e-mail.
Has anyone here using his feloney heads that could answer my questions ?
I know he's on this forum, and maybe he'll see this.
