FE Technical Forum / Distributor's
« on: July 06, 2022, 03:05:48 PM »
Is there any advantage to running a MSD distributor instead of the dura spark with a aftermarket cd box ?
Have a pertronix 2 plug and play billetright now and noticed a intermittent miss between 6000&7000 rpm when dynoing.
Have narrow it down to the distributor in my 449stroker.

FE Technical Forum / Exhaust port spacing
« on: April 02, 2022, 11:19:36 PM »
Not sure if this would be allowed here, but does anyone know what the difference is in the exhaust port spacing between the FE and a 385 series header. Was thinking about swapping out the header flanges on a set of 460 headers to work on my 390 stroker

FE Technical Forum / Fe water pumps
« on: June 04, 2021, 10:27:57 AM »
Awhile back, the subject of water pumps came up and the bracket fitment for some people useing the Stewart/ EMP pump was mentioned. I just got off the phone with them and learned that we can send our old stock pumps to them and they will rebuild it with there new internals and bearings for around 70$ plus shipping. So that would be a great alternative that would avoid any fitment issues especially for the early motor pumps. Just thought I'd pass this information along. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend 🙂

FE Technical Forum / Jay's timing cover and timing set
« on: November 18, 2019, 11:27:49 PM »
Was looking at Jay's timing cover and timing chain set as was just wondering how, other than loctite do you keep it from the adj bolts backing out and it jump time? Are there spacers that go in and keep it from moving as a backup precaution? It's a nice set up,but was just wondering

Now that they have been out awhile, curious as to what the consensus is on the track heat single plane intake compared to the Edelbrock offerings?
