Attached is video link for my best pass in my 67 Country Squire. The car has a Lykins built 390, 4 speed toploader, 4.70 9" rear. It is in stock street trim with all the interior (including the 3rd seat). Weighs 4,640 with me sitting in drivers seat.

This is my best pass yet . 12.91 with a 1.71 60'. I have been playing with the launch RPM and this pass it was launched at 4,300 rpms. During this day I was fighting some weird high rpm misfire which I have since resolved and hope to get a better number soon.

The link below contains the pass which was at Lebanon Valley Speed Way in NY, during Hemmings Musclepalooza

FE Technical Forum / FE Motor Plate
« on: December 25, 2020, 07:42:55 AM »
I am leaning towards using a front plate for the 427 in my Fairlane. It seems most only use the 2 Water pump bolts on each side. I did discover a timing cover from Dove,I believe, that also uses bolts from the timing cover? I can’t find it for sale anywhere though?

Looking for thoughts on just using the water pump bolts and to see if someone has a better idea that would incorporate some additional mounting points .

Any ideas or info on the timing cover is appreciated

FE Technical Forum / setting pinion angle
« on: July 07, 2020, 02:19:13 PM »
I am trying to get my wagon (67 Country Squire) straightened out with regard to pinion angle. I have watched nearly a dozen videos, bought a book, and also read a bunch on-line. It seems most of the info is geared toward four links or leaf springs?  Does someone have a best method of setting pinion angle on a coil spring car with a factory type suspension? Is 3 degrees total acceptable for a big car like this?

I am not a chassis guy nor am I an engineer so a layman type explanation may help me a lot.

thanks

FE Technical Forum / Tremec TKO 600 Package for FE
« on: June 30, 2019, 04:37:12 PM »
I have just about everything you need to install a Tremec TKO - on an FE. Transmission, Quick Time Bell Housing, Clutch Kit, and Hydraulic TOB.  All items are new in boxes and have not been opened. I purchased them through Brent approx. 8 months ago. My plans have changed hence - it's all for sale. I do not want to separate. I would entertain trades for FE parts or cars - partial or full.
The transmission is the .82 overdrive with 2.87 first gear. Part # TCET 4617

Good Deals! / Brent Lykins
« on: February 09, 2019, 07:53:59 AM »
Just getting around to posting about a very pleasant experience with Brent. He custom built a hopped up 390 for me over the summer. I have yet to install the beast, but can assure you he was a straight shooter, had an unbelievable attention to detail, and was always spot on with communication.

I was a little nervous at first ;shelling out considerable $ to someone I had never even seen before. But spoke with him several times and had a good feeling.

In the end it was a great deal and I ended up with what looks to be an awesome 390. It currently is sitting in the middle of my shop and almost looks TOO nice to even install in anything
