Not as interesting as Jays Calliope motor but still non-FE.

I've got what seems to be a banjo steering wheel from these model years.
Would like to be in contact with someone who would know about them/wants to buy one.
Pictures attached. Excellent condition just needs paint. Pictures attached. Also have a 1933-40 locking ignition coil. (free to someone)

Offy Trans adapter #0603
I sold a 3X2 Edelbrock intake to him. His friend is replicating a 1960's 36 Ford dirt track car FE and an early trans.
Please message me if you know of one.

I asked this on the Old FEForum but didn't get a reply. I know there are Y-Block folks here.

Neighbor down the road (only 10 houses in 1-1/2 miles) has a 1956 T-Bird he upgraded to a 312 with Ported CI heads and  BT Intake.
He called this morning and is looking for a high volume fuel pump since he is getting fuel starvation at full throttle. He is using an aftermarket Holley (Brawler) carb with dual pump and Mech. secondaries 600CFM.
He specifically asked about a 4918 pump for a FE and said it will fit a Y-Block. Looking here the 4918 was superseded by a 6974 are those available? Can a FE fuel pump ne used effectively on a Y-Block?

FE Technical Forum / Jay: Possible VC style for your production
« on: December 21, 2022, 10:46:25 PM »
Fellow on HAMB just got a near pristine 61 Starliner. He does not have the Thunderbird Block lettered VC's. I've got an excellent set of Chromed ones (peeling chrome) that he wants to buy. But before I sell them do you want to get a mold? Not sure if anyone re-pops these

FE Technical Forum / JayB and HemiJoel question about 6X2 carb intakes
« on: November 08, 2022, 09:16:59 PM »
I've got Jay's book and watched Joel's comments about 6X2 and 8X2 intake Mine is a Edel F68 with 6 Stromberg WW carbs.
Mine flow about 20% more than those in Jay's test, Quite sure that those were positive linkage.
Wondering about positive vs progressive linkage. Getting ready to spend some money for linkage.
My 2 options are Ford 3X2 progressive and straight positive. I've got one of each and can duplicate another if I need.
Balancing carbs can be an issue with 6 to do.
The fellow I'm sending my Grant Spaulding to (Advanceddistributors in Minn) said he'd advise positive since looking at the runners he would be worried about A/F mix in the outer cylinders in street driving.
Your thoughts:  positive or progressive linkage?
2800# car 4.11 wide ratio 4 spd 427 with a 428 crank Edel. heads flowing 300+ on the intake. Street driven only.

Non-FE Discussion Forum / SBF 302 measurement Ex manifolds
« on: October 11, 2022, 04:31:07 PM »
Does someone have the width of 302 head exhaust surfaces?
All of my SBF stuff is gone so now I only have a set of 289 Cobra headers.
Trying to figure out if they would fit outside of a 1931 Model A frame. Will sell them on HAMB but would like to know if they would clear.
My 31 Roadster is slated for a FE.
Thanks

FE Technical Forum / Nostalgic look for a 427 CO? Grant Spaulding setup?
« on: September 15, 2022, 11:26:40 PM »
My 427 CO is going into a early 1960's car and I 'm wondering about using a Grant-Spaulding distributor/
Do know it's age/look appropriate for the time frame but what should be the timing be? 14 degree's initial and 38 at what RPM?
Street driven car prob 3200# 3,90 gearing 4 spd. WR toploader CI long tube headers.
Sending the distributor to AdvancedDistributer's in Minn. for a check and recurve.
Oregon Cams 600-608 lift I and E.  Edel. Heads that flow 300+ at .600 lift. Large 6X2 Carb intake.
So what curve is best for my car?

Decided that I have to many other projects, and I've been here for 74 years.
Rusty Crankshaft saw the car a few years ago and asked me if I'd sell it so now is the time.
I drove the car from new to 62K miles in Oakland Co. Michigan and only got caught in 1 snow fall (2") and had it in the garage before salt trucks got out.
Just had to take a short cruise on Woodward over that Thanksgiving weekend.
Took it off the road in 1972 and it's been stored inside since. Engine is stuck "Ran when parked" but 50 years ago. LOL.
So, a picture of the car before I trailered it to Brookings Oregon in 2010.

Will the weight of the headers pull studs out of the aluminum heads?
2nd question what porting will I need to do to get good exhaust flow into 3" exhaust system realizing the C3 Headers have a 2.5" outlet?

Tried to message Blue 67 and it gave me a 403 error.
Posted in the thread instead. I read the Intro and rules and saw nothing about a 10 post limit as other Forums have.

FE Technical Forum / FE Edelbrock F68 Intake 6X2 intake.
« on: May 01, 2022, 09:08:43 PM »
Jay and others: I'm assembling a 6X2 intake for a "somewhat street able" Fe in a lighter car.
I'm wondering if progressive linkage will work. The outermost cylinders may be starved for fuel at lower RPM's.
Plan is to use 2 sets of 3X2 linkage (one for each bank) and adjust so the secondary carbs come in at a lower throttle level.
In Jay's intake comparo book he used WOT as a function of Torque and HP but that would negate any fuel starvation to the outmost cylinders at low RPM's.
Anyone have any experience with the 6X2 intake?
I'm using Stromberg WW's that flow about 30% more than those in Jay's test. I've got about 20 WW's and at least 10 NOS ones.
Any advice?

FE Technical Forum / Just general FE info Bolts for a FE
« on: November 15, 2020, 10:11:37 PM »
Put this spreadsheet together to organize the bolts from my 20+ FE blocks from a scrap yard here in Brookings Or.
Some may find this helpful when you are looking through a pile of 5/16 or 3/8 bolts.
Posted this on the FEForum but others may see it here
Please provide me with corrections or additional info.
Intake bolts were checked  both with a C6 S intake and a Ford LR 2X4 intake.

Saw 2 errors Crank pulley bolts are not Fine thread. Oil PU to oil pump are 5/16, missed the cam bolt

FE Technical Forum / General Kinetics Cam F2H-300-U question
« on: November 04, 2020, 02:19:53 PM »
Found this cam I'd forgotten about on my shelf (along with a Crower, Isky and Edelbrock all still in boxes).
Here is the Cam Card. Would it be reasonable for a 4000+ lb. car 3.50 gears and a stick. Street use only 1948 Lincoln Continental.
Planning eventually upgrade to a  Ford 3X2 setup.
I've had this cam well over 20 years

FE Technical Forum / RC bellhousng questions.
« on: October 29, 2020, 07:07:32 PM »
From and earlier post in the private classifieds I commented about the RC I got from Henrysnephew. Mine is about 140 miles from here right now but 427Jim (Jim Wiltrout) is assembling my 1964  period correct 427 Jim was gracious enough to send pictures.
I'm using as many of the period parts as I can get RC bell, CI 427 headers and either Vertex mag or Grant Spaulding Distributor 6X2 Edelbrock Intake and most likely Offenhauser pentroof VC's. So here are some pictures of my bell housing. It has dual bolt patterns for the trans so probably a later version of the one sold on E-Bay for $940. (Randy was very generous with my purchase)
The E-Bay price to me was ridiculous.
My question is: How can I use a later flywheel with the earlier starter Bendix bellhousing? I've already bought a new aluminum 428 flywheel for my build.
