Private Classifieds / Gear Vendors Overdrive For C6
« on: December 29, 2022, 11:09:43 AM »
Hello All.

I am trying to help a buddy out that is not a member here.

He is selling a never installed Gear Vendors overdrive for a C6 that his Dad bought and passed before it was installed.

See the pictures attached, some black paint got spilled on it at one point, I believe that to be the only issue.

He is asking $1200 for the unit, and it is located in Weymouth, MA.

If you are interested, message or text me (cell 617-913-5540) and I will give you his contact information.

Thanks, Mike Howard.

Hello All.

I'm trying to find a set of wrist pin bushing to bush a .912 Piston & Pin onto a .975 Rod, the actual application is 351c pistons onto 400 rod.

I was told Y Block items would work, but can't find any sizing info in my searches.

Any help with on the Y Block dimensions, or an actual bushing part number is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike H.

Hello All.

I have read the tunnel port thread and I have a couple questions for the group.

I had a a big Cleveland built with a lot of work done, think a 70's Pro Stock Roush, Glidden kind of thing. It is a healthy piece.

It has a Bud Moore Maxi Box intake that has had the bottom of the ports epoxied up (about 6 inches into) the ports to match heads that have the old school Roush aluminum tongues installed.

The tongues are held in place with a button head through the bottom on the intake port of the head, tapped into the tongues, and Miller Stephenson epoxy.

I have been told not to use any ethanol / oxygenated fuels as it eats away and lifts out the epoxy.

My question is, can or should I use this on the street with ethanol and will it erode and lift out the epoxy unless I use non oxygenated fuels.

Even if I use good fuel, how long would you expect the epoxy to retain its shape and integrity?

I have resisted using the engine at all to this point, but I and am now considering removing the Box intake and going forward with another intake that has no epoxy and not worrying about the tongues.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks, Mike H.

FE Technical Forum / Using Hard Block to Fill Intake Crossover
« on: July 17, 2020, 11:21:54 AM »
Hello All.

I am looking for a solution to block off the exhaust crossover on an aluminum intake.

I do not have access to a tig, and didn't want to stack a couple pieces of stainless in there.

I figured I could block one side and pour in some block grout, clean it up when dry and be good to go.

Has anyone done this, or see an issue with it?

Thanks, Mike H.

Private Classifieds / WTB: 69 70 Mustang Fastback
« on: December 27, 2019, 10:51:49 AM »
Hello All.

I am looking for a 69-70 Mustang fastback.

Hoping to find something that is a driver, and doesn't need complete unibody reconstruction (but I am a realist), preferably some kind of running project, all the way up to a decent driver.

Whatever it is, I am going to top out budget wise at about 20k, and I am located on the east coast.

Thanks much, Mike Howard, cell / text at 617-913-5540

Private Classifieds / 390 Builder EDC-E Heads Streetmaster Intake
« on: August 20, 2018, 12:57:33 PM »
Hello All.

This is a 390 builder I am moving on from as I found myself a 428 to use instead.

I have had this set of heads for decades, really nice set of castings that are in nice shape with no damage or issues.

EDC-E castings with machined combustion chambers.

The block date code is 9E24. It is hard to read, but it is a 9 with a dash under it.

The head date codes are 76D & 86F, the early casting has the freeze plug in the ends, the later one does not.

The block is standard bore, the crank is standard / standard.

It has a matched set of C7AE-B rods, the timing cover, and a good set of nonadjustable shafts / rockers.

This is the 3rd Streetmaster intake I have owned, I blasted it because someone painted it black.

This is the cleanest one I have had to date. All the threads are 100% except the water outlet threads for the heater core. They are not that crisp.

I think it is a reasonably easy fix. It looks like it could be chased with a pipe tap, and then use some thread sealer on it.

I was going to freshen this up with a set of .030 forged pistons, send the heads out for a CJ valve job, and put new rings / bearings in it, but am moving on to the 428 instead.

Located south of Boston, MA.

Asking $800.00 for everything as seen and I am open to offers or trades.

Thanks, Mike Howard

Hello All.

Hey, I am in need of an old 390 2v Motorcraft carburetor with the 1.33 venturi that would be a good candidate for rebuilding.

Hope one of you guys have something hanging around somewhere.

Thanks much, Mike H.

Hello All.

I bought this intake (site un-seen), to use on a 351c project.

So when I got it home and took it out of the box I was kinda bummed out, being that the seller made absolutely no mention that it was all windowed out, and cut up like it is.

That being said, obviously this would make is a great candidate to be used on one of Jay's adapters, as there is just the two small pieces of end rail left to remove.

My only real option to be able to use this, is to fabricate a valley plate, a jig to bolt the intake too, and weld the valley back together in it. At this point I would just like to try to get my money back if possible.

I will take $225, plus the shipping for all 3 pieces.

I attached a bunch of pictures.
