Inside of bed should be black on your '66

They said that it might only be 60000. Is this true.

Yep right on 60k plus I ordered the 12,000 lb winch.  Truck could not be sold until winch was installed and that took 8 months for it to show up. On window sticker not a after the fact.  I drove it yesterday for first time and it will light em up from a 45-50 mph roll. It was awesome! Only drove 8-10 miles on side streets that were in industrial part of town nothing there.  It was pulling as hard or harder at 80 mph has it was 45-50. Spun from a roll to 80 when I left off.

I must have forgot how to post pics as it says jpeg not allowed.

Got the short block done on the 7.3 IDI turbo diesel engine build - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-96getWjac&t=103s

Hurry and get it on road!  Will you use it to move back to TX?

must be a very short order list. price of diesel may be scaring people away. you did good.

Very long order list in 1st month of order banks opened had 240,000 orders!
Since my dealer has about as good of CSI as one can get they were awarded a what do you need build it now Super Duty order spot.
The GM of dealer asked if I wanted it and I even waited a couple weeks before saying ok.
From date of order to complete ready to ship was only 20 days.  Others have been waiting for orders since last October.

Dealer said any truck combo you want any engine as long as it is Lariat or lesser trim level.

Ordered April 11th Vin on April 13th sent to plant on April 20th then Scheduled for Build April 29th. Truck shows built May 1st this morning I got email from Ford saying truck is built and released from plant awaiting shipment and gave date of June 7th For delivery. Should be close to that. Family vacation June 9th about a 2000 mile trip so will see if it shows in time. Only bad part this trip will be 27 miles of dirt road. (LOL)

F/A me will be picking rocks out of the tire treads . .

Can't wait to see how it does in the 0-60 and 1/8, 1/4 mile. I think it's possible it will run  a 13 second quarter. Fastest factory Super Duty yet?
be good for a 7100 lb truck

Just got word. Truck is built!
Only 18 days from order to build.

I figured the 406 would get ya to click . .

Anyone else take advantage of the new 406 500hp 1200tq in a Regular Cab Pickup?
which of course is the 6.7 HO

I ordered a new 2023 F250 XL Regular Cab 4x4 base model with the 406 HO
Thinking this very well could be a 13 second factory F250?

The new HO is supposed to be only 10% of engine production for the new 2023 F series trucks

Thought about doing a 4x2 but adding 4x4 only around 2500 more and figured it would be needed for traction
My dealer said they could have truck of my choice built in 6 weeks or less and I could order whatever I wanted as long as it was Lariat or under trim.
I ordered with Lightest possible 4x4 and did narrowest tire and tallest gear 3.31 Locking of course.
Did not notice until I got the window sticker it will have manual hubs

Ordered April 11, 2023 it had VIN April 13th and sent to plant in production on April 20th. Build day of April 29th which was Saturday.
Have not verified it was actually built but the KY truck plant has been spot on.

Should  be a great Hot ROD that will tow 20,000 bumper pull and 22,700 on gooseneck 5th wheel which I also ordered along with Camper Special Package.

Should be a fun truck and after selling the F100R this would be great addition.

By early reports 25 MPG could be possible with this combo. Less the 131 lb 12,000 lb factory ordered winch Curb weight expected to be 7011 lbs.

Starting this week I can finally get back on my FE projects

Have my 1966 F100 Ranger cab on the rotisserie, the chassis is complete
stock 352 with factory OverDrive

I have a Fresh 393 FE on stand that is going in clone of truck my dad bought new

My daily driver is another stock AZ since new 1966 F100 with a 352 and 3spd OverDrive

Still have 2 big trucks with FT power.

After 23+ yrs of ownership I decided to let this truck go so I can continue on others as retiring in 2 1/2 months from now.

9500 Fantastic miles and pretty much meeting all the goals I set for it or hoped that it would do.

600 rear wheel hp  (603)
600 rear wheel tq  (658)  these were on base E50 Tune
25 mpg which it did on 91
20 mpg on E50
1000 miles on a tank of fuel
100 mph in the 1/8

In braking department it would go 60-0 in under 3 seconds!

Ran it thru Mecum auction April first.  Great April Fools joke for those saying it would never bring more than 29k

With buyer premium it sold for $165k which was a world record for a stock suspension 61-66 truck and tied the record for all time 61-66 Trucks.

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Re: Ford to eleminate dealership's.
« on: August 15, 2022, 11:26:18 AM »
Ford's ceo said in an interview that he has had it with dealership's adding a markup on their popular model's. He said some dealer's are adding up to $45,000 to the msrp on the new lightening and maverick's.
He said they will go to an online ordering system where everything is upfront and quick.
They have had new policy's in place where if the customer order's a car the price is locked at the time of the order but the dealer's are still charging the markup or they won't deliver the car to the customer.
Instead of hour's to buy a car you can do it in minute's and the car will be delivered direct to you.
Ford is in the process of doing the change now.
You can see the interview on utube under Ford has had it with dealership's.
Greg

Farley was supposed to be a “car guy” but he could care less. He is all Electric. Time he gets the boot 🥾

All talk no action. I ordered a new RaptorR at msrp and now seeing dealers are asking 100k over msrp.
Non MSRP dealers at minimum 20k, 30k, 50k, 80k is the norm.

Seems some have very large non refundable deposits on 100k over in SoCal.
Many dealers taking large deposits without having a allocation.

I know obviously every car is different but let’s say my car, obviously a 9 inch and a c-6 with 3000 stall what do you think the horsepower loss is. I know a c-4 doesn’t draw as much horsepower Jay said it was a big difference. If I do the Wallace calculator it says I have about 490-507 horsepower at the rear wheels depending on the weight I put in. Was wondering what the loss is to know approximately what it was making at the crank.

Approx 25 yrs ago I did a good 1/2 dozen from engine dyno to chassis dyno combo's.  FE C6 and FE Toploader. 1 429 SCJ
In the 400-500 hp area it was almost exactly a 100 hp loss with 4 spd and a 125 hp loss with c6.   Those losses did include exhaust. Good exhaust but maybe not ideal but as un-restrictive as I could make them at the time.

FE Technical Forum / Re: Fuel Efficient Build---352 or 351W
« on: April 04, 2022, 03:30:18 PM »
2nd truck which is my daily driver now and the truck I am building a clone of the one my dad bought new.

It has the Factory 3 spd Column OD trans in it but I have yet to hook up the wiring to activate the OverDrive. This truck has a 3.50 gear
MPG had started to drop off then found the points had started to burn at 5000 miles. Will probably switch to DuraSpark MSD combo.

Okay guys, another fuel economy question for you regarding a couple engines.
If you had your choice, which engine would be a better candidate for a fuel-efficient build, a 352 or 351 Windsor?
Given the current situation around us now has me thinking more about MPG than HP.
Would still like to have good torque and a throttle responsive engine, only focus more on efficiency.
Factory cylinder heads, pump gas, backed by a C6 in a 4000lb truck. Will be using an aftermarket throttle body EFI system.
I do have one of those overdrive Top Loaders that came in late '70s trucks I could install, if it would be worth the trouble.

As always, any input greatly appreciated.

My best MPG FE is a current truck (F100 Ranger '66) with a stock 352 and a factory Overdrive and 3.25 gearing. Consistent 22 mpg @ 65 MPH
where as a typical 352 with a 3.50 gear or a F250 with 4.10 & taller tire is 10-12 mpg. Factory 2v carb always the best. Tried other 2v's and lost 3 mpg.

Another daily 352 truck that has a added 1961 4v intake and holley and fine tuned with as much timing as I can give it is 14.5 mpg if I drive it nice but now the holley is giving issues so mpg recently dropped under 10.

I have found as typical the manual trans always seems to give better mpg.

For fun of it I wanted to see what I could get out of a 390 with low rpm power and MPG main goals. Started off with a .020 390 block and custom pistons with better ring pack, 9.00 comp, idle to 4000 rpm custom cam and will be running a c-6 with a GV OD and a 3.50 gear set to start off with. I have a few extra 3 spd overdrive (factory type) transmissions I may try. Goal is 18 mpg @ 65 mph. For this one I had Drew do me up a 390 GT Holley and I added 406 manifolds from Kugal. Excited to see where it's at for power and mpg but thinking may not quite get to 300 hp but should make incredible tq.

Truck I drive the most I did a 2020 Raptor Crate engine and a 10spd auto with a 3.50 gear but switching to a 3.0. It gets 25 mpg @ 65 on 91 and 20 mpg on E50 while making over 600 hp to tire and 658 tq to tire. If I get too happy with throttle it drops to 17.

The factory 3 spd manual OD trans are a great deal for mpg. I have found the GV OD is also a great improvement.

Did one 351w and was not impressed with mpg or power.

Sound funny to say FE and MPG in same sentence but the stock 352 with a tall gear and od shocked me as to what was avail from factory 56 yrs ago.

Truck pretty much complete now. 4000 wonderful fun filled miles so far. Time to catch up on my 4 FE/FT projects
