Thanks Jay, looking at Pico videos now.  Looks like they can measure primary and secondary ignition signals.  One question, are you able to cancel ignition signal one cylinder at at time to measure/compare rpm drop? (Locating weak cylinders).

Thanks

The price of oscilloscopes has come way down.  I’m looking to buy a hand held scope to perform some of the old timey test that I used to do on giant Sun or Allen machines.  Specifically, raster and parade patterns for both analog and digital ignition systems, rpm drop cylinder cancel tests, starter draw, alternator test.  I don’t have the real estate in my garage for one of the older Sun machines.  Anybody have any experience or could recommend product?

Thanks Gents!

GREAT Info... many thanks!

Thank you!  Going to have Brent spec me out a retro hydraulic roller cam.  A point of compression between 9.5 and 10.5 will make huge difference on cam specs if I want to California pump gas.

Thank again

AWESOME!  Thanks for info.  Has a lot more compression than I thought.

Greetings Gents.  I'm trying to get some TRW piston specs for an L2218 F piston for a 289.  I know its a flat top forged piston with four valves reliefs.  I was able to use a camera through the spark plug hole to get the part number.  What I'm trying to figure out is the cc's of the valve reliefs to accurately calculate compression.  My guesstimate if more than 5cc and less than 10cc.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice video Chilly460.  Can you provide the cam specs for your 390.  Also any idea on your vacuum at idle (power brake friendly?).

Sounds like we need an aftermarket cylinder head comparo.  Stock out of the box with no mods or porting.  Put them all on the same dyno mule.  I know a guy who has a lot of experience with that comparo stuff. He even wrote a great book with all results...Just sayin... ;)
