A full 8.50 cage can be made using 1 5/8 tubing. Either .120 DOM, or .093 CM.

Every Spring, I replace the plugs in my race engine, whether they need it or not. Got bit by that once before. Plugs worked in the fall, and looked perfect in the spring. Didn't work though.

Merch has been slim the past few years. Hopefully this year's turnout will be better than last. Seemed like attendance was down.

The average age of a person that owns a FE, is probably around 70. Attendance will not be sky rocketing.

I am NOT on the Land Speed team. I have enough irons in the fire, to not get involved with that project. I'll go with and help when that day arrives, but until then, it's not something I'm passionate about.

I'd just assume, you would want to run windows so you aren't in a cotton candy machine racing down track? LOL.

Why wouldn't you want the windows in for aerodynamics?

FE Technical Forum / Re: Slow site

I don't know why so many folks are having slow response times.  It is really fast here, no issues.  In any case, there's nothing I can do about it short of a major change like swapping hosting services, which I'm not willing to do at this point.  I will call GoDaddy again next week, but it hasn't helped before.

Maybe the choke is stuck? Plug wire off? Need a bigger squirter in the carb?

It's been slow for me on my work computer for quite a while. Few months at least. I just assumed it was a Ford issue?

Wonder what the Cammer is going into?

Probably where 99% of Cammers go. In a show vehicle. Make a nice dyno number, brag about how Steve Morris built it, and then stare at it...

That's too bad  .. It should have had an FE  Those Hemis are so fragile  lol

I know of a few FE's that never made it to Drag Week, or finished as well. It happens. Doesn't matter what it is.

Speaking of MIA racers... What happened to our friend Joel "Plenty of Time" Nystrom?   Was he not planning on running his Hemi Coupe in Hot Rod or gas class?

PLENTY of time... For next year Royce.

As Jay says, anything that can't been seen externally, should be new parts. Why not make it the best possible engine it can be? Lighter pistons, better rods, more camshaft, more power...
