FE Technical Forum / Re: Unusual valve stem wear - question for the experts

Chevys had some soft chrome plating on the valve stems. It's the same way with king pins sometimes the bushings don't wear just the pins.

Right now people who leased cars and are at the end of the lease have a gold mine. They buy the car at the end rather than turn it in and are selling them for thousands over the buy back.

I'd say a good racing fw has a SFI rating.

87K? That's laughable. Where are they going to find that many people to work when no one else can get one person to hire. never going to happen. If they hire 10 a day it would take 24 years to fill plus all the ones leaving or retiring. Never going to happen, scare tactic.

I thought catch cans were for direct injected engines. I don't think it should be vented. Does the engine have lots of blow-by? I know you were fighting a smoking issue.

Was at my dealer yesterday to order a new truck. He heard nothing about it, but still impossible to order most 23s. I don't know how big dealerships are going to survive this. Another bail-out?

The problem with all of this is that anybody younger than 40 doesn't see this as a problem.  They all grew up with technology and very limited personal freedoms and civil liberties that you and I enjoyed. I sold a car over the weekend and while cleaning it out I came across a match book (remember those?) that said on the cover "at least you can still smoke in your car".

The World Economic Forum is just the New World Order rebranded. Laughable. BTW If you want to join, you have to be invited. That says it all.

Nicest I've seen is polished concrete. There are companies that will grind and polish your concrete that looks almost like marble. When I asked what it cost, the only reply I got was "expensive".

FE Technical Forum / Re: Help with vague return to idle
« on: July 22, 2022, 08:41:38 AM »
What I would do is the next time you pull up to a stop sign and it is idling fast, I would lift the hood and start wiggling at the carb linkage and secondary linkage and maybe give the vac adv. and pcv valve a sharp rap with the blunt end of a screwdriver to see what happens.
