I like the idea of a run stand but is it really a good idea on a new engine when you can't load it to seat rings?

Happened on my standard Edelbrock heads with Erson rockers many years back with a reasonably aggressive Lunati solid flat tappet. I put it down to to over revving (lots of 6000's, quite a few 6500's and the occasional zip to 7000, then the valve springs really gave up & I couldn't hit 6!). I covered everything with a shop towel, left individual tips poking through, dressed them with an angle grinder and ran lash caps. They were fine thereafter for many years until the heads came off for a rebuild. Ran lash caps since as I don't think the tips were hardened very well.

Not BB but I use NGK BKR6E in my Edelbrock head 427 (484 stroker).

Anyone know the difference between these and the BCPR5EY's that I currently use? Apart from heat range.

Looks fantastic mate! Love the way it sits. I bet you can't get the grin off ya face (or your old man's) when driving it. Great job.

My 67 vert did this a few years ago. I used 3M automotive VHB (very high bond) double sided tape. It is available in clear, grey and black in different widths. It is just starting to fail again so I am about to do it again. Probably lasted about 3-4 years. I don't bother to unzip though when I drop the top.

Usually not a fan of colour coded chrome......but I may have to make an exception in the case of that 67 Gal. Seems to suit it in that colour.

The Lane has an aluminum rad, it never gets hot.

Interested in the details of the radiator in the Fairlane. Been thinking about changing.

Sorry to Hijack but while we are on the subject of C6's I have noticed mine getting a little soft on shifts the last couple of times I have driven it. I had turned the modulator down slightly as it was very violent (would bark the tyres when not wanted) so thought I might have gone too far. I went in and turned it back up (in) but the adjuster screw was wet with fluid and 1/4 of a turn made no difference when it would usually be significant. So I think it might be rooted.

It is of course adjustable, screw in, silver zinc with what looks like the remnants of a white stripe. My questions are, how many types are there, what is the difference and is one replacement brand better than another? I want to put on exactly the same type as it has now as it is very well suited. Thanks.

Plus one. Curved mine as per pic in other post and it works fine.

Every FE that I put a significantly smaller diameter wp pulley is on has resulted in cooler running temps by much more than five degrees.

It doesn't take much. Someone gave me fancy looking aluminium water pump pulley so I put it on. It was only 3/8 bigger in dia but the car got hotter so took it off.
