The crack would be in water jacket ,you would have to plug  both ends and one of the plugs would have to be able provide the air source and hear leak or fill waterjacket with water and check for bubbles (Damn old age my mind can't remember were bottom port is I ) think main bearing bore.
Damn I saved that post about the repair fix, but can't find it in my  puter  it's as screwed up as I am!!!

oil in water and not water in oil .I think you need to check the oil passage through the block that runs through the water jacket  and as oil pressure is damn near higher than water pressure some times they crack . ( WHY?????) .As I remember is a pushrod with ends gut off driven with sealer on it down from top ,or???
Seems to me I remember some one posting a service buliton on this (from FORD?)

NAAAA I believe  there is a little gremlin  that lives in the corner of the garage that grabs the nuts ,bolts, tools  that you just had right there in front of you,and holds on to them for a couple minutes, hours ,days till he git s tired of screwing with you.
Then he puts them right back in front of you so he can laugh at you!
I've been fighting ,chasing that SOB for last 50+ years  ,he or his cousins have followed  me  through through the last 4 garages!
That my opinion and I'm stickin with it.

A long time ago bout 64 I got off C-130 at Dyess AFB branch chief met the plane told me I was on leave as of tomorrow, because I'd have over 60 days buy June 1and the Air force wasnt paying me,so I took 30 days.
At discharge in Feb 67 I noiticed I was gitting out3 days early, questioned the Major (who was in charge of the dept handling the discharge paperwork) . He looked at my records says your right ,but I dont know why!
I t took me about 10= years wondering why then relized I sold the Air force 63 days leave at discharge and they could not handle that SO I got out 3 days early biggest mistake of my life.
(20/20 hind sight is wonderful) !!!!
But in my defence being 22 and making a whole $220.00 a month with $63.00H/D pay added, got out went to work at Mack making 6 F-4's a night 5 night a week with mandintory O/T,pay went up a bunch!!!

My vote would be the  Ford style "Boss 429" style scoop ,used to have a 71Comet(Mercs verson of Maveric) with a smaller verson of that scoop.
Speedway has a 5" tall verson I like but it's a bond on!
