Well guys, I've talked to the seller. He's as cool and as caring as day one. He expressed that he mentioned that to me during the purchase, and I replied, no, that's an unforgettable fact. Nevertheless, he assured me thats a running block out of his galaxie. As we continued talking, he said he saved the info. and when his daughter returns for Christmas, he will send me all files and ad photos. He also wants to hang out when they visit california.

While I'm not happy about it, I guess I'll send it until it blows.....

It’s sad that people are that deceptive, and wouldn’t disclose an obvious repair like that, especially when you’re purchasing something that large a long way away. Unfortunately it seems to happen too often. Hopefully it turns out to be functionally useable, but that’s not the point of course.

It's definitely a bummer. The cool thing is i hope it is salvageable. I may learn to assemble my first FE with it. If it blows up....well, it was already headed down that path.

I agree with Kevin's statement.  Transactions like that are frustrating to say the least.

I don't mean to add to the situation, but am I seeing a crack in that middle screw in plug as well?

haha you're not, thankfully that was just a piece of hair or some debris.

Unscrupulous on sellers part, to not mention anything about the hole in block and sub standard repair.

Indeed. I'm reaching out to him again tomorrow lets hope he answers his phone.

Today was a joyous yet sad day..... The 427SO arrived as we were outside workin on mamas rig. Installing her new light show. Unfortunately, it arrived w/ an unknown surprise. A surprise the size of Texas! The seller never mentioned this 😏

I’ll get more photos soon. The setup arrives Monday. That photo was sent to me by my buddy, letting me know he secured the package.

The 427 Side Oiler.... I learned about this engine sifting through novelty materials and of course the school of YouTube. I was watching some vintage races, and when the video of the Nordic Viking came on I fell in love with the high rpm sound. Ive been dead set on building an 8k rpm FE ever since. I began looking for an 427SO about a year ago, made a deal on one in boston, and have been waiting to either go get it or ship it. It arrives monday!!!! Now, times change, people change, I may be giving up on the glory of an OG 427 and considering building an aluminum FE.  Two nights ago i stumbled upon a post about jay browns heads and that wormhole lead me to some lykin videos and now im at a stale mate. Happy to get my SO but the future me wants an AL. setup.

I'll start off with the 390 .... long story short, I ended up with an entire car for free.  Supposedly it was a rebuilt 390, so I had that pulled with the transmission. It was a c6 i believe, memory is a bit gray haven't played with that info too much as I wish to go manual one day. Drivetrain removed, and I gave the car away. Verified 2U crank, C6AE rods and C6ME-A block. Came with an eddy manifold 2105 and carb 1406. One head is C6AER and the other CA6E 6090 R

First and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

My name is Joel, and I’m thrilled to finally join this community after lurking for some time. A little about me: I left a life in imports to chase a dream, and about a year ago, I picked up my first Mustang a '68 coupe with plans to convert it into a fastback (jury is still out on that, budget crisis). Fate took a turn when my wife sent me a link to a Shelby tribute fastback while I was at work, the rest is history. Now I have two Mustangs. Penny (the coupe) will be my high rpm FE project car, while Sgt. Snake (the fastback) is staying mostly as-is with its lightly revised 302.

Why am I here? Simply put, I love these cars and the incredible knowledge this community has to offer. I've learned so much from your posts during my research, and now I’m excited to formally introduce myself.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!
