We have used them for several builds at the shop for many years. From BBM and stock FE, 385 series builds, to the "off brands" and have never had an issue yet.

It took me three months to find mine so I bought a couple of extra sets from different suppliers. DSC Motorsports got most of them for me.
If he doesn't have any I will sell you a set. Mine are F-24

FE Technical Forum / OE 427 Side Oiler Build
« on: May 06, 2023, 05:34:42 AM »
We found two used side oiler blocks that were originally used in a tractor pull setup and damaged. The one needs three sleeves and the other has just been align honed
and in order to straighten it needed the deck cut to 10.133. It looks like it will clean up at 30 over but we'll find out for sure Monday when it goes into the CK-10 boring
machine. My question is will I need to have the pin height shortened when I order pistons? I would like to keep the compression around 10ish. We just finished the NOS
Medium Riser heads with 2.19 and 1.75 SS valves that came from DSC and the cc's came in at 86. Once we get the bore size determined we'll call Diamond for pistons.
Rod length will stay at 6.488 and an original steel crank will be used. I hope my question is clear as I seemed to ramble a bit. Thanks for any info you would like to share.

I saw that car in a video before and it sounded great, but anything with Blairs name on it gets a special look from me anyway. Great builder.

I have watched several and most are machine work but a few are about the things his dad had. I assume he is talking about Jim Dove.
Some real interesting stuff about a man that worked with Ford in the 60's. Jim was a personal friend of the guy I work with at his shop
and he has a lot of great stories about Jim back then. I remember when Jim took ill and some of the guys in the FE world having some
issues with purchases around then but I haven't heard how it turned out. Still, the videos are interesting. I saw some of Jims Light Weight
cars in a couple.

I am also waiting on F-24s we have 3 side oilers in the shop to rebuild and have one set of TRW SH643S. I am confused about the top oiler
having the grove in the casting for the cam bearing. I would think it would get constant oil fed to the head from around the back of the bearing.
Am I misunderstanding something? Just curious. Thanks Brent for the info, I also watch all your videos (FE's Mainly) keep helping us with the life
of our FE world. Thanks
