Private Classifieds / Cyclone brand 390 GT headers.
« on: October 19, 2025, 08:10:30 PM »
I have what I think are a set of NOS Cyclone Brand headers. From what I’ve seen these headers will fit 67-70 Mustangs and 66-69 Fairlanes. Headers look to have been bolted up and had some clearance dent added but don’t look like they’ve been run. Still have the original white paint and faint surface rust inside. The only downside to these headers is that they won’t work with manual clutch bell cranks.
$600

It would be a long shot but the old Cyclone brand header were 4-1 and would work with power steering.  They are hard to find but I have seen them on ebay before but have been out of production for decades. All of the specific Fairlane/Comet 4-1 headers drop down under the lower control arm on the drivers side and that is why power steering can't be used because it interferes with the steering ram. You could possibly modify some Hooker super comps or go full custom. Other than that you'd have to compromise by going tri'y or manual steering

The FPA Tri-y's will work also JBA Tri-y's should also work. I saw a set of FPA's listed on facebook yesterday listed as JBA's. I used to run Headman Headers 1 3/4 headers on my 66 cyclone 4 speed car but it was manual steering, not sure if they would work with power steering though.

It's been a few years since I've seen the car in person but I'm pretty sure it's a 302 based stroker.

Is Stan at FPA still selling headers? Last I heard he was ready to retire.

I’ve seen multiple people during this past year share pictures of the headers they’ve received from FPA (not just FE), so it would seem they are still in business to me. No idea what their future looks like.

A separate company called “Stans” headers closed a couple years ago, and patterns & shop equipment auctioned off. I think we had posts about it in the past.

Both companies lead by someone named Stan, and I remember there was lots of confusion at the time. Just commenting so people know there is two separate header companies sometimes being discussed.

Yep. It was confusing. Stan from from FPA had Stan from Stan's headers make headers for FPA. Stan's headers closed up shop and Stan from FPA was having some of the fabricators from Stan's headers fabricate headers for FPA.

Stan from FPA was semi retired/ working from his house when I was a kid 30 plus years ago when I bought my first pair of FPA tri-y's.
