You might try "West Coast Classic Cougar" in Oregon. Don usually has a couple in stock.

There number is 503-463-1130.

Fairlane Sport Coupe's use that same console. I had a couple over the years. One was a 260 3 speed column shift the other was a 298 2V Crus-o-matic with a column shift. The one with the 260 had been swapped to a 302 with a 4 speed with a nasty hole cut in to the console plate. Not that this info will help you with finding one today.

I have been using a GoPro Hero 11. It works well, but the mic doesn't always give me the sound I want. I recently added a external mic set up and a Media cover that the transducer for the mic plugs in to. But have not done a good work out with that. The Media cover does not protect the camera; it just adds several convent features. What I don't like is the wide-angle lens, A more "Normal: focal length would be nice. I also use a Nikon D7100, but it is heavy. I have a good selection of lenses for it and gives good resolution. The built in mic is only fair, but I can us the external mic I have with it too. Most of the work I do does not include much action, but I do some.
This is an example of the GoPro's work without the external mic from last Summer.

UI have to ask is this a 70, or a 70 1/2? Early 70 are the 67 to 70 body style and the 70 1/2 are the 70 Torino body style.

One time I was working on a SBF for a friend. It a fresh rebuild by somebody else, complete and in the car. It dumped oil out the rear of the block. They had forgot to install the plugs. I pulled it out took it down to a long block and installed plugs where needed and out it back together. Then found that all the rockers were over tightened.

Hi Rory

Quote
galaxiex, what part of the "Great White North" are you from?

Born in New Westminster BC.

I owned those cars when I lived in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
Grew up there from age 4 to 19.
Moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1977 and have been here ever since.

Yep, I'm "sorta" familiar with Canadian Ponchos.  :)  (and other GM and Mopar Canadian models)
Occasionally an American model would show up here,
and we would all marvel at how "different" it was compared to the Pontiac's etc, we knew and owned.
Even had a local Studebaker that was Chevy powered, tho that may not be exclusive to Canada.

For a brief time in Whitehorse, my brother had a 67 Parisienne 2+2 rag top with the Chevy 327 Powerglide, console and buckets.
Nice car but was from down east and rotten to the core. (rust)
I'm sure you are aware.
They used to, maybe still do, salt the crap out of the roads in Eastern Canada.

Cheers!
Dale

op, sorry for the off topic.

When Studebaker stopped building cars in the States, they were all power by SBCs. I know a few people when I was young in the Seattle area that had them. Kind of sad, the R2 and R3 Studebakers were fast, a bit outdated, but fast.

I was out last night taking pictures of it too. Here are a couple I shot using my Nikon. Note the airplane flying through in the first one. I live on Camano Island WA. Some 65 miles north of Seattle. Not a lot of light pollution, but still some. This was one of the most active displays I have seen.(not that I have seen a lot) Back in the mid 70's I was working in Anchorage Alaska, I got to see, and photograph the Northern Lights a few times, they were brighter than this one was, but not as active.

Some have an even number, just not the Ford 9 inch......

What about the 28-spline axles that came with some 9 inch rear ends?
Most. Only performance and some H/D axles got 31 spline axles.

I was rear ended and pushed in to the back of a pickup in my 2015 Ford Focus(in 2018) the first estimate by an adjuster from my insurance co was for If I recall $9700. I thought that was low and had it sent to a shop not far from me. They did a inspection and estimated it at $11,000ish. The insurance co for the guy that hit me though that was high and ordered them to partly dismantle the car for a better estimate. That came in at closer to $14,000. At the time almost full retail value of the car. Note, none of my air bags deployed.

My first Cougar got a bomb can stripe job done to it back in about 1977. It was done in oat to hide the parking lot chips.

Junita area of Kirkland WA 1978

But moved on to include the hood and trunk.

Bellevue WA, Overlake area 1978.

Whidbey Island  WA 1978

It did get some young ladys attention, but it also got the attention of the boys in Blue...
It was not all that fast, but could keep up wit most Small Block Camaros, Firebirds and Mopars. Not as cool as a K code early fast back. But the dark Brown Leather interior ws impresive.

He got an infection that laid him up in the hospital and rehab for several months late last year. He was unable to do any work for several months.
