FE Technical Forum / Alternator ?
« on: September 24, 2018, 08:43:06 PM »
Hi all. I'm going to use the cvf serpantine kit on my 390 but I'm trying to find a alternator for it suppose to use a small frame 3g. They reccomend the 77491 power master.  Can anyone tell me what this alternator configuration comes on factory. If anyone has used these brackets does the large frames fit or just small frame.

Ok that makes sense on the fuel heating, I just looked at the holley setup looks alright.  One thing will the timing control work with the oe dist converter to pertronix and msd box

Ok I was looking at the fitech units but they tell me that they will not work properly with a returnless fuel system. I don't see why as long as I supply the right psi what's the diff if I don't use there regulator

Hello. I am going to be running efi on my 390 but I have a couple questions. Has anyone used the summit branded efi system, I like the single fuel line, I already have a walbro pump in tank and a return type fuel filter so the 58lb fuel pressure is taken care of.  I have read that some efi doesn't like dual plane manifolds, has anyone had an issue

Hello all.   Anyone that has had a dist custom curved.  Can you tell any difference on power, starting, etc.  I was told by a friend it made a big difference in his a mod dirt car. I don't know if it's even done anywhere but I have a couple places I can try if it's worth expense.  Thanks all

Well I was just checking to see what is around. It's better than 300 for kb's.  I don't have a good history with them. I never worry about used pistons in fresh bore, as long as pistons in good condition. Clean them up in the blast cabinet and they work just fine.  I need pistons with 1.780ish ch so not many options. Thanks tho the cast pistons won't work

Just checking if anyone has some good used .030 390 pistons.  I am planning on getting some Keith blacks if I can't find anything.  Figure I'd check here before I ordered anything.
Thanks all

Hi all  I'm stuck at the moment . I have two diffrent casting heads  c6ae, or c1ae they both need seats, couple guides, etc . They will be on a street engine in a 1/2 picky.  I'm using d cup keith black pistons and a 16915 crower cam.

Is there either that will be an advantage for a low rpm torque type engine. This engine will prob never see over 4500-5000

OK I will have to keep my eyes open for set .  I found a inline pcv valve I could install between intake and tb.  Just figuring out oil filler. So I have two options anyway.  Thanks all
