I had a PA FE to c4 Housing purchased thru Jegs that stayed on back order for about one year. They kept pushing the ship date back and finally cancelled my order. Jegs had my money for a year but I wanted the PA bell housing, but never got it. I do have a QuickTime FE to C4 bell housing, but access to the torque convertor looked better on the PA unit
Found a local guy, dropped the block off today. He has a huge oven to put the block in to heat and control the cool down. $200.00. asked him if he wanted me to pay him today, he said no incase something unexpected happens and he can't repair it, so seems to be a stand up guy.
Scored a Mirror 105 engine. put on engine stand, knocked the engine down to just bare block. put it in my truck to take to engine shop and sometihing fell as I was unbolting the block from the stand. picked it up and it was a piece of the block where the starter bolts up. Found someone who said they could repair the block for $500.00. Anyone ever have to repair this typoe of damage? anyone run the engine without repairing this? bolt starter to bell housing without block support?
will you be making the rear main cap as well? I picked up a used block that is missing the rear main cap as well as a couple of the other main bearing caps
