Well as you can tell we didn't make it to the track this year. Just to much going on. We were way busy at the shop, and we moved. So the Mustang will go back in the trailer until next year. We really wanted to race at this track because it's around 3 to 400 feet lower than Bandimere.
We thought just maybe we could of touch the tens. There are some thing we want to do to the car before we race any way.
I hope everybody has a great winter.

Sound like you had a good day at the track.

It will probably be Pueblo. I would love to go to Julesburg, but it won't be this year. Pueblo is only around an hour and half from my new house. I will let you know when were headed to the track. I would love to see your car run.
Take care.

Well we finally got the Mustang back down to the shop. We know it's late in the season, but hopefully we can make a few test and tune before they shut the track down for the season. Hopefully we won't found any big problems with the car. It fired right up after sitting in the trailer for two years and it sounds really good. The track that we are going to run the car at is around 300' lower in elevation, so maybe we can shave another tenth or two off our times.
Well that's it for now.

I like taking my little FE power Foxbody Mustang down to the track and kicking the crap out a lot of GM and Mopar powered race cars. When people come over to see what just beat them, I say its just a N/A Stroked FE. Most racer have know idea what the heck an FE is.
So I really don't care what they say about FEs it's more fun showing them what an FE can do.

Here in Colorado, were right at 5000 feet above sea level. We always advance the timing 4 to 6 degrees from what the factory recommends to give the fuel time to burn. As far as the jetting goes is I'm old school so we just read the plugs and go from there. Like Jay said an A/F sensor would be the most accurate.

I have a brand new SO block they would be perfect for, and then a 67 Cougar to put the engine in.

I was always taught that electricity is lazy, and it will find they easiest path. Sound like to me is you have a carbon track in the distributor cap. Just a guess.

I agree as far as the MSD stuff goes. We have a digital 6AL-2 box , with the MSD billet comp distributor. If we set the rev limiter to 6500 RPM. It will only let the engine go to maybe 6000 RPM. To shift at 6300 we have to set the limiter at 6700. They say it should be on the money, but it's not. It's kind of frustrating.

Well as you probably guessed we didn't get to the track this season. Everybody on the race team just had to much going on. For me my son got married and that took a lot of time and all of our race car money. I did get the seat belt recertified. So now it's so late in the season, we decided to  skip racing this year. There some updates we want do to the car any way. So we will get those done over the winter. Hopefully we will be faster and safer next year.
I would like to thank everybody that is following our racing adventures. It is really fun racing an FE powered race car. Most people haven't got a clue what an FE is, until they see it run a low 11 N/A.
We are working on another FE power race car ( 67 Cougar ) with a stroked 427 side oiler. That one is a few years away.
I hope everybody has a great winter!!!
See next year!!

Ya we tried to get every run we could before the end of the season. There is one more race this weekend and that will be it for Bandimere. Unfortunately we can't be there, were getting ready to go Elk hunting.
6667fan, good luck on your last TNT. Go straight, fast, and safe.
mbrunson427, I hope your right and the new Bandimere is on the way.

We have done a lot of racing this past month. We have hit 4 test and tunes and on Saturday we raced a fall series bracket race. It was only 1/8 mile. That was a first for our team. The car ran great!!!! We didn't change anything, just ran it like we were running 1/4 mile. Our first run we set our best 1/8 mile. The car ran 7.25@ 94.84mph. We only got one time trial, before going into elimination. We put 7.25 for the dial in knowing the car would run that. We went 2 rounds. The first round I red lit but the guy I was racing red lit worse. The car ran 7.35 @ 93.95. The second round I drew a track veteran so I knew I had my hands full. I forgot to mention I was running the old geezer class, so there was all kinds of cars. Including race cars with all the electronics, and me running a foot brake car with a two step. The guy I was racing dialed in with a 6.5 and we dialed in with a 7.25. So I knew I had to be on the ball. I had a decent reaction time, but it wasn't good enough. He beat me by 2 100th. I gave him run for his money. I really though I beat him, but I didn't run my dial. I ran 7.37@94.04mph.
It was a great day of racing, and last day we will be racing at that awesome track. Hopefully Bandimere will build us a new track in a year or two.
Next year we will being racing in Pueblo Colorado which is about 2 hours from home.
Well thats it for now.
Thanks for listening. GO FE POWER!!!!!!

We're running 10.5 M/T on a 28" rim. We hook up good, but were launching at only 2800 rpm. We need more converter, then maybe we can get our 60' number better.

Man we would love to have some 1.5 60 foot times. Our best is a 1.61 60 foot.

We hit the track last night. Again we only got two runs in. We had a rain delay, and there were just alot of cars. I didn't run the car this time, our last member of the race team did. He set a new low et and mph for the car, and with a not very good 60' ( 1.68 ). The car ran 11.34@ 120 mph. The second run wasn't good, because the line lock button fell apart. So he really didn't get the slicks hot. The car ran great, but not a good time.
Hopefully we can get the line lock button fixed and hit the track next Wednesday.
Thanks for listening.
