I'm a new member who appears here as Vintageironlover. My name is Scott and I have been a fan of the FE since I was about 10 years old, or since about 1960. I don't currently have a hobby or project car but I'm constantly reading about all this stuff. I found my way to this site after following the last couple of Drag Weeks in Hot Rod Magazine. Growing up in the middle of the golden age of drag racing and the muscle car era was, and still is, a dream. I probably would have started out with an FE-powered car but at that time, in my home town area, there weren't any really good Ford performance guys to get involved with. As it turned out, my first fast car was not a Ford but an 1969 Oldsmobile F-85 with the W-31 package. I learned to drag race with this car and was doing fairly well on our local scene - until I was drafted. I had a couple of Corvettes after Vietnam but also had a family by then, so the toy cars faded from the scene. I served in the Army for 20 years, then got a college degree and worked another 20 years as a Department of the Army Civilian. I retired at the end of 2015, so I may finally end up with an FE hobby car after all. Meanwhile, I really enjoy reading all the posts here and getting educated. You'll probably see questions from me from time to time as I continue my quest. Thanks for letting me join!
