Nice Brent I guess Jays heads are working well. Only 10 to 1 making good power. Love the flat tap pet to me nothing sounds better not even a solid roller. Was that cam nitride.

Dumb. How about a round about on the camshaft, less than 750 lift?

If the fuel systems up to it I believe you just have to fatten up the jets

Have you used a cam this size before wondering what the RPM ranges are. Like shift RPMs converter size

Thanks Barry good to hear from you.
That outing at your track do you have to be there all three days or can you just go Sunday.
Another 3 day event would be tough on the pocket so close to the reunion.

Ya know it can’t be said enough. Some of the people you meet at the track especially the reunion are some real good people.
It’s always great when you go racing and come back in one piece.

So last week 8/31 went to a local track on Long Island that opened like 4 years ago but they started prepping the track at the end of the year . So I figured I would go test a little before the reunion. I tried to get into the bracket race but it was for cars that run 8.50 or slower. Those cars don’t get to many brackets and the track accommodated them. But I was able to make 4 passes. First pass I spun the tires and figured it was going to be a long night but my next 3 passes were very consistent. On consecutive passes I went 7.07. 7.04  and a 7.01. So I figured I’m ready.

Went to the reunion and as usual had a great time. Got to meet a few more people that you talk to on the ,forum but it’s nice to put a face to the posts. My daughter Noelle was there as usual and my dad was able to make it also. So due to bad weather (as usual) we ran eight mile on Saturday which to be honest wasn’t to bad I’ve been to a lot of eight mile tracks and as Mike Weeks says you have to run the eighth to get to the quarter so what’s the difference. My car is always a little slower at the beaver so looking at the quarter mile times from thurs and Friday I was right around 7.31. Because of the elavation I lowered the jets to were they were a couple of years ago and was rewarded with 7.22 to 7.25s. So I left them there and Saturday I was doing well on the lights a couple of .040s and a .010 which was good enough to get me the bye. I made it to the semis and cut a .151 light which didn’t get it done. So Steve and Ed said hey we got to do the bird race which was fine by me and made it to the finals only to red light. It also seems like I shoot myself in the foot when it gets down to the nitty gritty. As you can see by my posts I don’t get to go to the track like I used to like 3 or 4 years ago so I guess what I really need is more seat time. A thanks to Mike the owner of Beaver springs who really went out of there way Saturday to get the race in. Mother Nature was being a pain in the ass. God willing I’m gonna get some more seat time and brush up on my consistency. We everybody at the reunion next year.

I’m not sure but I think Jay has a 4.50 crank in his SOHC.
