When yiu say match the lift to my heads...what exactly do you mean? Chamber volume, comp ratio? And I thought I read somewhere on here that someone was able to go abive a .550 lift with the factory non adjustables. Was wondering what others have experienced.

I am currenly building a Fairlane with a 390. Was looking for some cam suggestions.

66 Fairlane
Non PS, Non PB
4spd toploader close ratio
3:899 or 4:10 gears
750 vac sec
Holley Street Dominator Intake
Gasket port matched stock heads Int and Exh both ported
Stock non adjustable rockers
Mallory elect dist

I want to go hydraulic roller cam, rougher the idle the better of course. I saw tbat Thumper is making some roller grinds that carry a nasty idle but still good perf up to 6000. Considering my setuo, anyone have any good suggestions on cam spec and valve train?
